http://aintitcool.com/node/47600 Empire was the first movie my parents took me to see as a kid; in a sleeping bag in the back of a pickup truck (we were farmers) at the Silver Moon Drive-in in Plant City Florida. They started the double feature with A New Hope, showed a few cartoons and then moved to Empire Strikes Back. if only Kershner could have directed the later films. RIP, Sir. |

This is a sad day. I remember my Mom taking my cousin and I to see Empire the weekend it opened. I was 9 and it was the most amazing thing I'd ever seen. I loved Star Wars, but Empire? That movie made such an impression on me. RIP Mr Kershner. I hope you knew how happy you made so many people. |
