True. I've used it on both painted and unpainted vinyl without any issues, and it works great.

saliva and your t shirt .... works for me usually. but if it doesnt, try a lil bit of rubbing alcohol, i used to use that on some of my action figures that get scuffed, though im not sure how it will work on vinyl. im sure it will be fine as long as the area is in unpainted .... and does magic eraser really work? i always thought it was somewhat of a really really really fine sandpaper and uses abrasion to do the 'clean up'. i was always afraid to use it because i thought it would do more damage than fixing

I would try Novus Plastic Polish; I have used it successfully on plastic and vinyl. If the scuff is too big, it probably won't help it, but the stuff is great for cleaning figures and removing small scratches. I agree with Ultra999 that magic eraser, in this case, would be too abrasive. http://www.novuspolish.com/

So I used a magic eraser and it worked great. The bomber ended up having scuffs on the hat that came off fine also. Thanks for all the advice guys.

i've used Goof Off, but it's basically a paint thinner, so if the scuff is on a part that's unpainted, then game on. Otherwise it will take the paint off.

Now to find a way to glue back broken vinyl... Gorilla glue epoxy and a q tip, works like a dream and still has some flex on it when dried. Fixed a broken thumb on a SB figure that was white three years ago, the glue hasn't discolored at all and I even put some on the outside, you would never know it was repaired.
