with about 300 people and it was good. Playing only songs from their first album in linear order with a few songs from the latest album thrown in as an encore. If you like 'em, I'd go see this tour if you can. |

Sounds like these 2 shows. http://hobbs1767.tripod.com/1998/980724.html http://hobbs1767.tripod.com/1998/980725.html I made boots of both of these shows and they've been available on the net since. (If anyone wants a copy I can hook ya up.) I think I paid $8 and stood 2 feet in front of Josh. Now you get to pay like $50 to see them. |

I lived in Seattle from Oct. '97 until January 2003... My wife thinks we saw Gamma Ray but, to be honest, we saw so many bands it is a blur. But nothing soaked in until Songs for the Deaf and then, when I couldn't go forward with finding new material, I went backwards. All of these guys are such crazy good musicians it frightens me to watch them. |

Chad Hensley wrote: All of these guys are such crazy good musicians it frightens me to watch them. Who is on the tour lineup these days Chad? A sort of shameless hijack plug (sorry ahead of time)... I'm posting this because I am super happy that Troy and Sourvein are finally getting back out there and making it happen. I have had the pleasure of working with them in the past and though Troy can be a handful, the band is flat out great! Hoping some of you EU folks will get out to these shows and show Troy and the guys some sludgy support! Tonight is the Metalliance tour. All of these shows are at One-Eyed Jacks http://www.oneeyedjacks.net/ here in NOLA Tomorrow is Mike Watt and then Eddie Supersucker Spaghetti on Tuesday. I want to go see Zoroaster on Sunday night but no one will go which is at a club called Siberia towards the 9th Ward. |

Did QOTSA say anything about a new album? |

Josh said nothing about a new album. Basically, he drank from a fifth of Kettle Vodka, smoked cigarettes, and made sacrastic witty statements to the crowd between songs. For this tour, QOTSA are Josh Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Dean Fertita, Michael Shuman, and Joey Castillo. |

Did he berate anyone in the audience? The first time I saw them Josh did that, and I thought he was a total douche. Then I saw them again, and he did it again, and I thought it was funny. Then I heard it on the live album... |
