Anyone know of any sites strictly for small budget/indie film reviews? I'd like to not have to weed through all the Hollywood crap when trying to find films I'd maybe go see. |

I like Twitch. They cover alot of the smaller films that slip through the cracks. They'll review big Hollywood geek films but mainly focus on world cinema. http://twitchfilm.com/ |

for what you're looking for http://www.indiewire.com/reviews/ isn't bad. there's other stuff out there. i don't mind weeding through the hollywood stuff and usually know what i'm looking for. http://www.imdb.com/nowplaying/ keep a decent list of limited releases as does http://boxofficemojo.com/schedule/ the nice thing about those being that you're never too far from viewer/critic responses and showtimes. http://www.avclub.com/reviews/film/ requires more blockbuster-weeding, but they're thorough with weekly releases and generally succinct. metacritic and rotten tomatoes both keep pretty comprehensive critic aggregate top-of-year lists. http://awardscircuit.com/ isn't all that useful between now and early summer, but once the campaigns get going it's a good place to stop in and track the independent films on the road to various awards/nominations. |

Also, MUBI is sorta the free streaming site of movies that are more indie than box-officey. You may check that out, too. When it comes to reviews, I use different sites for different things, but for film overall I occasionally hit Twitch or AICN (though I dont know why, since I practically never agree with AICN). |

MUBI is awesome, especially given that you can actually view independent/international movies there for low prices (sometimes for free.) |

Cool thanks for all the input guys, now all I have to do is move back to a city that actually shows indie movies (and not 5 months late) |

I guess a Coen Brothers film isn't really a indie indie film but still not mainstream. I'm going to see "Inside Llewyn Davis" today (it finally arrived in Buffalo at a indie theater a month late). Anyone else see it? Thoughts? Looks good from the trailers. Also pretty excited for 'Grand Hotel Budapest' in March, but then again I thought 'Moonrise Kingdom' and 'Darjeeling Limited' both started off strong but fizzled out in the end. |

i've been using www.letterboxd.com as a movie diary/log and as a way to discover new stuff to check out. tons of lists and reviews for pretty much everything in any genre. a great timewaster, and i've found out about plenty of cool movies i would have had no idea about otherwise. |
