Heard and interesting radio piece with the writer Jim Shepard this morning. Apparently he's written a fictional account of the inner working of Eiji Tsuburaya's mind as his life led up to and during the creation of Gojira. The interview with him is pretty great; he's a really fascinating and funny guy.

The novella, Gojira, King of the Monsters, is in a collection of short works called If You Think That's Bad, reviewed here by the NYT.

It's still available in it's small press stand-alone version, published late last year:

Master of Miniatures

I found a cool little piece on the book and the publisher here,
and another review I liked in The Nervous Breakdown

I can't speak for you guys, but I'm certainly in.
