I read the first one also. Pretty decent for YA fiction, entertaining read. Haven't caught up with the next two but apparently the second one is even better. The film series looked well cast and will hopefully be a huge thing. |

Just got the first book in the mail for a book club (I know, I know), but I haven't started reading it. There's no meaning for this post now, but hopefully soon I'll have something to say about the book. I know S7's own Julie Sharpe is very into the series, maybe she'll chime in. |

Read the first one, enjoyed it quite a bit. I probably won't get around to the next two though. But I do have high hopes for the film |

read all three and was quite happy with them. saw the teaser last night for the movie... lame. (i still have high expectations for the movie) but 30 seconds of her running through the woods? that's not a teaser, that's a movie poster. |

It's just that whenever I've had conversations about The Hungers Games, 90% of the time Battle Royale always get mentioned. So I was just waiting for someone to bring it up here, but yes you're right. |

I love this series. I devoured all 3 books. I could do little else until I had completed them. The story stayed in my head for a long time afterwards. I'm really hoping that the movie is good so that the rest of the story will get made into movies as well. I probably won't go to the midnight showings, but I will want to see it in the theater (even though I can't stand the other, cell phone using, talking jerks in there). |

I'm towards the end of book 2. I've just been devouring these books. I really really hope the movie does it justice. |

I've always thought of battle royale when I heard about this series. From friends I've talked to it seems people either hate the series, love the first book like the second book and hate the third book, or love it all (this seems to be mostly girls). Its mostly led me to just watch battle royale again. I try to never watch any mtv movies. |

battle royal is out in some fancy large print hard covers,I picked up the set and they are the cats meow, there's something about hard covered graphic novels that gets me all giddy |

I am extremely doubtful that Lenny Kravitz is the right person to play Cinna, but I hope that I'm wrong. |

Before reading this thread I actually though HG was the American remake of BR. It sounds interesting though. I'm more than willing to watch the movie and/or read the books. wing_clipper wrote: check out battle royale, basically the same premise but takes place in japan and was written 12 years ago! |
