One of the greatest movies I've seen in a while. Highly recommended. It had a very limited release here in the states, but go see if it's in your area! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cD0gm7dHKKc |

Quite good for yer modern day alien flick. Super 8 was kind of a bust but the kids in this one had me laughing. It worked to have the monsters mostly out of frame, they were a little cartoony. |

Teenage pre-sexual wet dream. Didn't care for it at all. Super8 seemed like the guys I played DnD with in jr High. Freaks and Geeks. Attack the Block was the skins (level of menatality) I had to deal with when punk went "hard core". IMO |

Unsure if you disliked the movie in general, or just the portrayal of their urban youth. Not like I was raised there, and I know that "they're keeping it real" - but just from minimal exposure from music & other movies, I wouldn't say the characters were too over the top for their depicted ages. I had Dizzee Rascal stuck in my head through the whole thing, though. As you can see inside the bathroom of our local theater ![]() (transcription: Attack The Block wuz tight) many people enjoyed it We caught it at a surprise free premier screening, totally dug it, and would have gladly paid to see it. And no, I did not write that in the bathroom myself. |

Finally, someone started a thread about this! I've been meaning to start one ever since I heard of this movie a few months ago, but for some reason I never got around to it. I liked it a lot and think it's one of the better movies I've seen this year. I've been chatting it up to everyone I know, but it's been in such limited release, I don't think anyone I've told about it has gone to see it. If it had the advertising budget of Cowboys & Aliens, it would probably be the box office champ of the summer. P.S. I thought Super 8 was pretty good. |
