Yeah I was just watching that. WTF?! 17K for that Boba fett???!! Who drops that kind of cash on a toy?! Damn that was crazy. That test card Ewok/ Squidface was so cool too. It would be awesome if they do a vinyl toy episode! I loved the sculpt of that Thundercats bubble guy too, very cool. Neat show.

I just caught the re-run. This show is like storage wars. Totally scripted. I'm still going to watch it. I watch storage wars too. I wonder how many calls that comic book shop got about those Star Wars figures he left behind. Why wouldn't he pick those up also? That Ewok was awesome. Did you see that guy jumping up and down when he saw the Boba Fett at the con? I do that at home when I open boxes but not in public. At least I hope not. I will continue to watch this show. My favorite part is the vintage toy commercial clips.

It was fascinating to see his visits to the homes of former toy company employees, and the type of stuff they kept in storage. The toy magazine owner's office and warehouse was insane.

Host seemed pretty knowledgeable. But he made a weird comment about the MASK toys predating Transformers. Uh, no. TFs existed in 1984 and earlier; MASK started in 1985.

I think the Boba Fett sale was total bull. I can't imagine someone just dropping $17K like that at the end of a comic con. It was too well timed.

Yeah it kinda seemed like BS to me too... just hard to swallow somebody dropping 17K that quickly on a toy... I would want some kind of certification from Kenner/Hasbro, also... Or at least a letter from that Kenner employee guy. Some kind of proof...

^Yep. Well, they could stretch it out and keep it interesting by going into different kinds of toys, going to Japan, doing a vinyl toy episode, ect... Other than the MASK stuff and the grail Star Wars/ Thundercat pieces, the stuff he got was crap IMO.... BUT it is cool that there is actually a whole show about the usually underground toy collecting world. I made my wife watch it so she could see that I am not insane. Well, at least not totally alone in my insanity....

If he only does action figures, yes. I can see this expanding to vintage and antique toys as well. The format has been successful; will be interesting to see if they can attract enough of a niche viewership to make it work.

pretty sure this was Dan Caldwell, one of the founders of MMA brand TAPOUT. if so, $17k ain't nothing but another collectible.

the guy on the right.

I agree its bullshit! I Caught the end and saw a small plastic Star Wars figure with some other dinky item go for $17,000 !!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to see this again but I do think he bought two items for that price............... Is it possibly a staged manipulation of prices? I would not at all be surprised. I cannot see this as being an honest transaction, however, stranger things have happened (Though in this case I don't believe it)
