Post subject:  Welcome To The Rock
Decided to take a run down to Cerritos / Lakewood this afternoon to check out "Levitated Mass," the pending work (enroute) by artist Michael Heizer. The images are about as good as it gets at the moment. Will be just up the street from me tomorrow, on 36th and Atlantic here in the LBC. There's apparently a party to be had as well from Noon to 4pm here as well. The rock/monolith/boulder is to be lowered on the LACMA grounds early afternoon Saturday before the fences go back up for them to finish the final setting, etc for the work. Anyway, Enjoy the few pics.

Also trying to find out more about the Cai Guo-Qiang event happening at the Geffen Contemporary. His solo exhibit opens in April, but he's suppose to be doing three commissions in the meantime. I believe the first burn was Monday and I hear there's another tonight and Friday, but I can't find any info on it. Gonna place a call later today in hopes someone there can tell me.

In case you're wondering, he's the gunpowder artist... 'Nuff said

Next to New Order and the Jesus and Mary Chain, Adam Ant is one of the worst live shows ever.

However, last night at the Geffen... AMAZING!!!

Two of my favorite things, fireworks and art... but together! NO job better.
