Saturday wins by a landslide. Looks like Kubrickworld has secured a ToyTokyo / RFSO / Kubrickworld get together. Details to be hammered out.
DJ, drinks and food in a hipster toy store with some hot japanese girls behind the counter. What more could you nerds have asked for?
Please discuss amongst yourselves.
Now what do we call this? Nerdquake 1.5? Nerdquake 2/ Electric Boogaloo?
Nerdquake Invades Brooknam? Sugesstions?

I don't really care either way.

I will say that Chiller is significantly more crowded on the Saturday, of course. I've heard Fridays are the way to go now. however, they are only open for a few hours that night and I'm not sure if all the guests are there.

also, are we meeting at the convention? or after the convention and going to the city?

because saturday would leave us with more time to do everything, whereas friday would be a little rushed.

just my 2 cents

thanks skylar but I need your vote. It'll help this indecisive collective make somewhat of a decision.

well, if we want to do more than just go to the con, my vote is for saturday then. I really doubt that with travel time involved we would be able to go to the con, get food, and go to toy tokyo all on friday. that's probably possible on saturday though.

I voted for Saturday, mainly because I'm lame and work a boring office job :)

Really though, it would be cool to have an entire day of stuff to do rather than just Friday night in my opinion. If it does end up being Friday night, I'll just take the day off and come down.

Either way I'm going, but I prefer Saturday :)

FYI, the October Chiller shows have the biggest attendance, and usually they're turning people away on Saturday afternoons and sometimes even Sunday afternoons. Unfortunately the venue isn't big enough for several thousand people.

If you're going to be here and don't know what your schedule will be like, I really recommend pre-registering and getting a pass for the whole weekend, which will prevent you from being turned away on Saturday or Sunday but you may have to wait in long lines. If you can plan on being here just one day, choose Friday, and try getting there early.

Shooting for Friday early (like being on line an hour before the doors open) is what I recommend. Many people who would normally be there are still at work. Plus you get first crack at the dealer tables.

I will be in the dealer's room all weekend and look forward to autographing your convention programs.

It looks like sat. is winning by a margin. No definite plans yet but if the Showroom idea that Kubrickworld goes through, we would have some party. Check pg4 of the other thread. Basically it would be a Toy Tokyo / East Coast RFSO / Kubrick Party at TT's gallery space called the Showroom.
This is on Saturday and we can even hop the train to check out those hot Japanese girls that work at High5 that Ceasar always talks about also.

its too bad Jekyll & Hyde's Club is so pricey, i feel this might be an appropriate meeting spot if not for the gauging tourist trap prices.

yes, Incredible work Satoru. Sorry you can't make it but keep us posted with the art show. Maybe some RFSO heads over in JP can meet up with you and check out your show.

Okay, so here's where we stand with the event.

It's slated for October 28th at High Five, which is Toy Tokyo's boutique shop. Trust me when I say that this is much better! Plus the showroom is booked with a living dead dolls show :D

Anyway, this is going to be a pretty major event -- DJ, booze, vinyl / figures and a few surprises!

As details get hammered out then I'll post them, or Ramos will.

Stay tuned!

unfortunately, Williamsburg wouldn't be as hip as it is if it was so accessable.
L train is everyone's best and only bet unless you plan on driving. Can transfer at 14th street for the majority of lines. 1st stop into Brooklyn. 2 1/2 block walk north on Bedford. We can even meet up at 14th or Union Square somewhere and head over together. Forbidden Planet Comic Book shop is closeby to Union. Will the Kaiser advise as he is down the block from High 5. meanwhile...here's the MTA line info.
