I'm so tired of lazy ass kids complaining about how they don't have the new iPhone or how they are board, blah blah.. Kids have no imagination besides what video game they would like to be a character in.

I had to donate, this video actually made me tear up with happiness !

I sincerely hope this kids does something with his life.

It's so awesome to see the dedication he has to make something he wanted to play and share when no one would play.

This video made my day :)

Thank you for sharing. I had a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye from a minute in, although since my son was born I've become quite a softy.

The fun pass security code is brilliant

Really nice story, and one we could all use a lot more of. I am glad their is still some genuine happiness and innocence of childhood left that has not been corrupted. Share, and share again. I dare you to not be moved.

True that!

Awesome video. Every once in a while I see a kid that gives me hope for this world and makes me rethink having one of my own.

Thank you for sharing this story Bill! :P Yep, another teary-eyed soul here. Now that's what being a kid is all about! In this day and age of just going out there and buying stuff, and having the latest and greatest, what I admire about Caine is that he's not afraid of being a kid and having fun, and being a creative genius too! :P

Also made a donation. He's going to make a fantastic President some day! He's going to be a blast at school too! :D

Thank you so much for posting this. It's so easy in this world to be cynical and closed off, this really made my day. I must admit, a few tears fell on my keyboard.

Yes, Thank you for posting this. I am going to L.A. in July. I will have to stop and check if Caine's Arcade will be open. I want a fun pass. I am sure I can find some toys to donate to his prize vault too. Awesome story. :D

Best short film Ive seen in awhile.

Caines Arcade Scholarship Fund

Chip in $1 or more to help Caine to go to college. Imagine what this kid could build with an Engineering degree!

$108725.05000001Raised

How much is a college degree in America now?

Amazing they have raised so much already.

Cant believe someone bootleged Caines Arcade t shirts.

Amazing! It's 11:50pm here in SF, and NPR just ran a radio story on Caine's Arcade! :P

Lessee... if you are looking for a year at Stanford, they estimate approximately $60k per year:
http://www.stanford.edu/dept/finaid/und ... index.html

That's lowballing it, if you ask me. Room and board around Palo Alto is bound to run you waaaaay more than $1500 a month (and that's sharing!). And that's not even including "fun" money :P (those Buta toys aren't cheap  <-- study aid). If you want to attend an Ivy League, they say $68K per year is also a conservative amount. Factor in that education will be a lot more expensive, a few more years from now, and inflation in general for other living expenses  ...

...now, if he wants to go to Oxford, he'll need heaps more! :)

five months later...

less tear-jerky, more inspiration-y:
chapter 2: the global cardboard challenge

get your children, nieces & nephews, neighbor's runts involved!

caine, on turning 10:

I like being 9. If I get older I will be like my grandpa and become slow. You also are not able to see that well... You don’t have to go to work or do all the things old people do.
