While he lived a full life, his passing is still one of loss. His many contributions, literary and otherwise, have shaped part of our culture beyond science fiction and fantasy. I thank you for your enduring support of the written word, creativity, imagination, and all the inspiration you have seeded in generations of people. |

A good, full, amazing life- RIP, RB! He wrote a very beautiful short piece in the latest New Yorker (and I highly recommend that issue- their first Sci-Fi themed issue- to everyone here, anyway) that’s all the more poignant now for its timing. |

Sad news, ultrakaiju... Interesting news, ungawa222... My introduction to the master's name was actually the TV miniseries The Martian Chronicles, plenty SF, but the first book of his I laid my ha. nds on was Dandelion Wine, a particularly Un-SF family novel that took place in a very real 1920s America. It still managed to hook me, and many a yellowed RB paperback follow me wherever I go. |

A very touching tribute to Bradbury by Neil Gaiman. It says a lot about the value of people (and their contributions) beyond themselves. With all those we've lost this year, and every year, we are losing a part of the greater identity we once knew. http://io9.com/5918839/must-read-neil-gaimans-tribute-to-ray-bradbury |
