Hey Everyone my buddy and I just launched a kickstarter today for an Iphone/Ipad game we are working on called "Crumb Catcher".
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/beardogames/crumb-catcher-a-video-game-for-iphone-and-ipad
Theres an unlockable character reward that may interest some of you called Giant Monster Beard Battle.

Thanks!

Okay, tell us why people should pledge money to your project instead of this:

And... go!

Now, I am sure what I am about to say will not be popular but isn't this like begging for money?

i think kickstarter is awesome and not akin to "begging for money"

people are allowed to decide for themselves if a certain project is something they want to invest their money in

i have supported numerous k.s. projects, and the support allows cool stuff to take fruition which may not otherwise have seen the light of day

crowdfunding is a great thing imo!

Yeah. what Wing Clipper said. Besides that it's more like the old concept of patronage or seeking investors for a film production.

In my opinion anyhow.

Why not pledge to both?

What kind of campaigns did you give money to and what did you get back?

I will admit I could be jaded but I have known at least 1 Kickstarter campaign that was a scam in the end...

i contributed to LASH's Olliie kickstarter and received the most awesome one off set in return.

like anything else, there will be good and bad eggs using a platform like Kickstarter.

Dragging Miles into your personal beef with kickstarter is lame. Some people are douchebags but Miles rules, end of story.

I want to begin a lobbying campaign to be an unlockable character in this. As I always seem to have some form of food in my face warmer...

Thanks guys.
Hey if your only beef is with Kickstarter then OK. If you have a beef with my game then you might make me cry
Seriously though, Ive put a lot of time into some of the rewards so to call it begging is kind of insulting.

I updated the Kickstarter with the Giant Monster Beard Battle characters in progress. Obviously you'll all know 'em.

Best money I have spent in a looooooooong time!

Miles I like the idea of the game. I still think you have a few more things to flesh out. I will be contributing when I get paid. I love kickstarter. Anything that helps people who dont have enough money achieve their dreams is cool with me

Those rewards are AWESOME! I want Boots to write nasty stuff about my Nemesis on a bathroom wall somewhere in the world.

Any suggestions are welcome. I want this to be successful .
When you say flesh out are you refering to the kick starter itself? Should we reveal/explain more details about the game/game play?

I've funded a couple of kickstarter projects in the past - it's a cool way to help artists who don't have much capital get projects off the ground (publish a book, release an album, etc.). Miles is a totally stand-up person - you don't need to worry about his integrity. I've traded kaiju for his ceramics for almost 10 years and he's always been very generous and gracious.

FWIW, his limited edition tiki mugs released through Munktiki almost always appreciate in value (some go through the roof). If you pledge at the $100.00 level and later need to sell the mug on ebay for any reason, you'll likely get your money back if not make a little (or a lot).

Internet begging hahah that's just silly.

KS changed my life for the better. It gave me an option that wasn't available anywhere else. I had no funds to get this off the ground and I was in a tough place money wise. Without any real previous past experiences in sales I had to gain people's trust. KS offered me this option.

I say do what you feel is right to you and don't worry about what anyone thinks. There will always be someone who will talk negative about it for what ever reason.

It's a no loose situation. If your project is wanted it will work and everyone who was interested gets what they want. If not there is no money lost and you can move in to the next project.

I would do it again if I felt I needed to do it.

Hey Pals!
I know some arent into it, whether it be the game or just Kickstarter, but I figured I put out one more post. The kickstarter only has four more days and we still have a ways to go. If you were on the fence or just putting it off please go check it out again and take another gander.
