That is so weird, it completely looks like that photo is pulled right out of the late 70s/early 80s, except for some giveaways (which would have made this guy way ahead of his time). Is this some kind of mormon commune this guy is rebelling against, or are there actually places in the US that still look like this? If so, I need to move there....well, maybe visit. :)

Still so many odd things about that photo. These are only scratching the surface:

- I would guess it is a high school, but then how do you explain the age gap of the 'students' ?
- why are the tables the size for one person, yet clearly set up to be surrounded by chairs?
- what is with the random lock box just sitting there?
- does that represent a census of the current fashion trends?
- where did they get those furnishings?
- do they really have McDonald's in schools?
- is he angry because he only had enough money for Pepsi and has to sit there while everyone else eats their lunch?
- do you think he is grumpy because he had to wear the clothes his mom bought him, and she wouldn't let him cut his hair?
- why are there chairs at what appears to be the order line?
- and who is taking this photo???

Ohhh, my head...... :|

BREAKING NEWS: Dateline Pyongyang. NagNagNag toys found to be secretly made in North Korea, and to account for 95% of its GDP. Buying them makes you support Kim Jong-un and therefore a terrorist.

this is a totally norma; food court in a shitty suburban mall in middle america. like..Illinois or somewhere. He's pissed because 1: Necromorth totally sold out and is gay and untrue due to their releasing a hit pop single and 2:Nag prices are thru the roof.

Been to that site quite a few times and lost myself perusing the images. I would be so proud to be featured in almost all of those photographs.

Though I would much rather be the guy in the Speed Racer shirt than be caught supporting the Bruins

Isnt that Nuno Bettencourt? I went to school with his cousin and was a big deal when he came back to the neighborhood. I never liked Extreme so who cares.

Never heard of Extreme, but you are right, from the signatures (and appearances), those do appear to be Gary Cherone and Nuno Bettencourt. Guess that explains an autographed photo. And here I thought it was just to celebrate being at the Ritz [Ritg?] (which is apparently a bowling alley).

I wonder where the blogger gets the photos from? There's one at the site of a very young Siouxsie Sioux ... looks like it was taken with an old Instamatic at a concert circa 1978. At first I thought "all these feathered mullets and puka shell necklaces are scaring me" but then I saw the sex photos. Scary!

I've loved that site since I first ran across it.
Besides the Extreme (Really people don't know who they are? God I'm old.), there are other old pics of people with Dave Mustang and other members of various metal bands, along with some of the awesome goth photos.
I thought the whole point was they were found photos?

Yeah. My curiosity was due to the fact that I maintained a similar site for awhile, where the self-imposed rule was that I couldn't use photos found on the Web, only in shared directories on P2P hubs. Amazing what people will share when they probably shouldn't. Just wondering how this blogger does it, since s/he has a consistent curatorial eye.

The photo of Paul Stanley with the high school majorettes in similar make-up was pretty funny.

I think these are all scanned in?

Oh back in the day I would download tons of random personal photos from people who had the folders open on edonkey etc. You are right, what people left out to the public in that day and age. The harddrive I had back then crashed or I would probably try to do something interesting with all the photos and documents.
