Was driving home from the coast today, going up I5 to Portland, and happened to see someone with a burgerbuns sticker on their bumper.. So I had my girlfriend write a sign that said LE MERDE! and held it up to the window. She looked at it and smiled, but I feel like she didn't know what I was talking about. Maybe it belonged to the guy sleeping in the passengers seat.. Almost had her write Are you on skullbrain?, but didn't have enough room. |

Cool, Jesse! I'd love if a fellow toy collector passed by me on the street. In fact, it would be a MIRACLE! |

Whenever I wear one of my toy shirts I always hope someone will know where it's from...never happens |

I showed some pics of my collection to a guy at work and the next day he gave me the kidr0b0t coffee table book. he doesn't collect toys per se, he collects coffee table books and apparently was through with that one. it was a nice gesture so I chose not to explain the difference between happymeal toys mass produced by slave children and the breathtaking pieces gracing my shelves. |

Last summer, I was walking through the French Quarter and I came across a parked car that had several Super7 stickers on it. I have no idea who this was but I left one of my S7 business cards under the windshield wiper... |

Maybe this isn't as unusual in San Francisco, but a few years ago I saw a man on Market Street wearing a Bemon t-shirt. Not something I'd ever seen before. I said aloud "BEMON!" with a big smile. Turned out it was Jay, visiting from the Philippines with his lovely wife and kid. We had a brief friendly conversation. A long time ago one of the Residents guys told me "if you see someone wearing a Residents t-shirt, you know you've got a friend." Pretty much the same with toy nerd niches. |

I really hate mass production through unethical labour, it's one of the reasons why I love Japanese vinyl - you know, apart from the enthusiasm of the toy makers and the awesome f***ing quality of the end product! Also the smell. The smell is nice too. |

I like wearing shirts of toy related things to hardcore shows, and hardcore band shirts to nerd things (like NYCC). Surprisingly a lot more HC nerds at cons more than toy nreds at HC shows |

I ran into a dude wearing a Secret Base hat and Devilman tee at a local comic shop today! Apparently he's been collecting for about four years now, not on Skullbrain yet. He knows some of you LA folks though. |
