Yeah been a rough week. Sad about Trevor. But Ray. The Doors, and Ray's sound were a staple of my childhood. My Dad wanted to see them but he didn't get tickets. He drove to the Hollywood bowl with My Mom and I (I was 2!) and they listened from the lot. I also remember bringing a Doors Record to school for listening day. Oh boy. Then on to working with X, and filling a gap of Los Angeles generations. Just an incredible stream of work. |

My dad ran away to Nashville with his brothers when he was a teenager, to try to be a hillbilly star. Didn't go as planned! The Doors... I had it weird growing up, my sister is 3 years older than me so I liked what she liked. As a little kid- bubblegum pop/AM gold, then she got into New Wave/early punk, then turned me on to US Hardcore punk... but through all that I always liked the Doors. I'm gonna see if my daughter will dig them when she grows out of her tween boy band phase (not soon enough!). |
