Bright red + blacklight= ?
Flourescent red + blacklight = WTF!
Flourescent is pretty durn bright.
But Bright red maked a great base color, and goes nicely with black.

The difference is more distinct when the paints are dry... |

I just cleaned up my airbrush of all the tamiya panit and want to get to the good stuff. Can you use the regular tamiya on top of V-color.?? Because I have a pretty good selection of colors for highlights. I think i'm gonna focus on red colors and want to buy the red hughs but those looked very similar..I will be getting both now. Also while I'm asking.... Does V-color dry gloss or matt ? And you thin it 50% right ?? Just wanna know to get enough. And what do you guys do with your airbrush when your done. Do you just spend the time to clean it real good. Or do you dissable and leave it in cleaner ?? School started and I"m ready to get busy again
Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I know the V-color is a different beast alltogether. |

You can use Tamiya paints on top, but don't mix them... they're bases are different, and will not mix. Also, Tamiya paint doesn't hold up well to friction as well as V-color, so if you use Tamiya in an area like an arm socket or around the neck area where there's friction, the Tamiya paint WILL wear off to reveal the V-color underneath. When doing lots of work in one sitting, I clear the airway of paint with thinner between different colors. I use q-tips to swab the gravity feed cup, and the nozzle area. When I'm done for the night, I do the above, but make sure to remove the needle and make sure it doesn't have any paint deposits on it, and do a double flush of the airway until the thinner sprays out clear. I generally leave my airbrush fully assembled when finished. |

Thanks that was great info !! Yeah if I use regular tamiya I was just gonna use it on small areas for highlights. But I didnt know you couldnt mix them. |

Anoter question... What do you guys use for glitter ?? I was thinking House of kolor ??? How do you apply ?? There is no way it will work with an airbrush, it will just clog. |

HOC, but yeah, it clogs a small airbrush. You need a spraygun. Some well thinned clear and keep it moving while you spray. |

Also do you use the Vcolor clear ??? I know the tamiya clear kinda sucks.... well from what I've seen. |

Stuff smells toxic! I just tried the gold spray paint from V-color. For some reason it did not stick very well to the base coat I had put down? The V-Color spray can gold is a funky looking greenish gold also. I think the others will be better for me, I have found a Chrome gold that I am going to pick up to day that should look sweet! |

Maybe thats why is did not stick? It was my first time using V-Color paint. I will try it on something else without a base. |

The only time I use a "base coat" is when I use metallics... and even then, it's just a light layer of black V-color. |
