Ok, i've been playing video games since i was 4 years old, nowadays im a huge XBOX 360 fan but WTF?!?!?!? No backwards compatibility on XBOX ONE?!?!?!?!? I Mean do these MS b¡tc#es expect me to drop over $600 on a new console (TiVo), throw away all my 360 games and just forget about all my downloadable content? What r they thinking? Don Mattrick (Head of Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft) has been quoted as saying to the Wall Street Journal that “If you’re backwards compatible, you’re really backwards.” and that only “5 percent of customers play games from previous generations” i mean, he has to be kidding, I truly believe that this might be the end for Microsoft on the gaming industry, and that SONY has an opportunity to come back on top (PS2 era). I remember when Nintendo believed that "cartridges were never going to be replaced by discs (N64 Fail)" and that "online gaming was for e-diots and that it was never going to succeed (after SEGA's failed attempt with the DC)" that ship was about to sink if it wasn't for the DS, i think MS really fucked up on this one. |

There's no backwards compatibility on the PS4 either. It's because they're using x86 chips rather than PowerPC, which means that the games simply will not work on the new machines. They can't even write emulators to run the old games, from what I understand. I'm still an Xbox guy, and Titanfall (Xbox One / Xbox 360 exclusive) looks incredible, but I don't think I need an Xbox One right away. I'll wait and see how it all plays out. |

Apparently they found a way around it to at least let you play PS2 and ps3 games on it, and eventually psone games as well, think it's a chip they're working on at the moment. |

I have a feeling that MS is going to do allot of back pedaling before the ONE drops. |

Crap, they're coming out with PS4 which I kind of dread. I'm a very very casual gamer. I think I only own about 4 or 5 games and got my PS3 in 2009. Never had any issues with it and I just know as soon as PS4 comes out it will be like 700 clams and instantly they'll be no more games for PS3. |

I literally only play uncharted3 online. if they make an uncharted for ps4 i'll buy it just for that. also, pretty sure ps4 is only supposed to be 400. |

The PS4 is going to be $400, and I think the PS3 will still be getting games for a while, probably about a year or more I would guess. |

This is incorrect. They're going to be offering streaming of older Playstation games including PS3 titles, but it won't be every title, and it won't be the same as playing them straight off your machine. |

I'm just glad that once the new xbox comes out I can slowly start grabbing all the great 360 games I missed out on for a fraction of the price. Probably take me a couple years just to get through those before i need any new system at all. |

You're right my bad, i was reading about a chip in the psn community before ps4 was announced. |

I'll stick with steam for now. They can all shove their exclusives wherever they want to. |

Weapons are pretty rad, too. Online multiplayer(if you intend on playing it) is somewhat lackluster, though. But I haven't played online since the recent title update. |

Lixx wrote: ... and instantly they'll be no more games for PS3. This will never happen for any console on launch. You can wait a whole year to buy a new console and still have new games coming out. Why? Not everyone buys a new console on launch. If game companies stopped making games for the current console, they've lost a huge amount of profit that they could've (for everyone one of you that says/types "could of, should of, would of" that is grammatically wrong, and makes you sound like an idiot) made. I don't understand why there is always this huge debate on what to get when new consoles come around. The answer is ALWAYS the same. 1. Buy it based on what exclusive titles you want to play. 2. If you play online with friends all the time, and they're all leaning to one console, be a freaking sheep and follow the herd. Otherwise you get stuck playing by yourself while all your friends are killing people in whatever FPS title they are playing. "But I really love the Halo series and I want to play that but all my friends are going to play the next CoD on PS4. What should I do?" Well...you can go play Halo and hope you don't get some kid crying to his mom for a juice box, or play with your buddies. End of debate. |

gatchabert wrote: End of debate. I'm not in any rush to get a new console. As Lixx said I'm also a casual gamer but when it comes time I'll be getting the PS4. I'm a sucker for God of War. Hopefully it will continue in some shape or form. Now the debate can end. |
