Anyone else ever play GeoGuessr?: http://geoguessr.com/ My high score is 19781. I've learned to know when something is in Australia. Always move around a little to look for road signs (and what language they are in). I'm a Geography nut who wishes he travelled more but this is pretty fun. |

Never heard of it, but great game. Some of the arid climates throw me for a loop, but otherwise not too shabby. I miss the joys of Carmen Sandiego. I had one guess within 40km, not too bad. |

Wow Jeb that's a great first time score! I was worried when I played it for the first week and got a few of the same locations, but I think they've added a ton more so I haven't had that happen again. I do notice Scandinavia, Alaska/Western Canada, and Australia are definite hot spots for locations. |

even though I didn't notice the zoom option until my second go..I didn't fare as well second and third time...9455 and 8982... I mistook sweden and alberta for upstate ny on one game & australia for new mexico on the other...amateur moves!! 19000 is going to be hard to top... shame to hear about repeats...hope that's been taken care of... |

I have not seen any real repeats in a long time. I do get a lot of Australia, but it seems to be lots of different locations in Australia. I'm starting to be able to distinguish the western vs. eastern sides of the continent. Crazy. The locations I hate getting are the ones in BF Alaska or Russia. Just so much territory, if you get a location just on a road or even in a small town without good signage it's hard to get those right. I recently got one location in Manhattan and got real close, but did not earn a lot of points for it. So I think the points you earn must be weighted somehow based on the difficulty of the location. So addictive... |

Last week I got a underwater location... literally- sea turtles, reef, lots of fish, shark. I knew right away it was the Great Barrier Reef in Australia but that's a pretty big area. Then again it could have been another small island in the Pacific. |

Thanks for sharing! It's really addictive and great fun! I haven't tried the timed challenges yet but I think I'll do that because at some locations I move around a lot |

Yeah when you get dumped in the middle of a mountain road surrounded by trees- well that could be anywhere! I usually pick Alaska, British Columbia, or Russia. I usually average around 9000-10000, that 19781 score I think is an anomoly because the 3rd location was a complete giveaway with a sign actually pointing to some fort in Arizona. I guessed within 3 miles and got a bunch of points. |

My highest was my first guess ever. Some place in Mexico, the shrubs looked like the ones in New Mexico. 2496 points, I was about 400km away from the place. the ones after that, never even close. ha! |

I'm addicted now, got about 100km away in Virginia for 2966 points and then 53 points for some road in the middle of the mountains that was on the other side of the world. Lol. |

Fun game. I find I'm really good at guessing US topography and highway systems and at using linguistic, automotive, and architectural clues. Biggest problem with the game is after 5 games, not a single Asian location has come up. |

LOL spoke too soon. Just came across a lotus pond. Was going to go with Kichijoji (Tokyo), but it looked too unkempt. Leant China (Hangzhou or maybe Suzhou), went Taiwan (Taipei). Wound up being in Macau. Game score: 13933 |

Gotta follow up and say this is a really cool game, but it falls hard by being so heavy on middle of nowhere Australia maps + Brazil locations. Google maps is everywhere, so there's no shortage of source material. Hopefully they'll do some recalibration and sprinkle in more Western Europe and East Asian maps, because not only is it fun but it might be one of the only time consuming things on the Net that could actually be educational. |

^^ What Andy said. And I would add-in South Africa to that list. Definitely would love to see some cities and more locations - I don't think that makes it any easier necessarily. HA! I didn't even know you could move around from the given site. |

^^^ I agree. Love this game. The wife and I play a few rounds each night before bed. Last night we had a round that put us in the middle of nowhere in Australia and South Africa the entire round. Our lowest scoring yet as it threw us for a loop each time. Tonight's score.
