Now, I hope that I'm not going to catch much flak for this, but I have no idea what to search for to find my answer: at 4:27 in this interview by Spanky Stokes, Skinner brings out a dragon-like quadrupedal toy that he says he got at Super 7.

What the heck is it and who makes it?

Anti-toy-hype gods, spare me your wrath!!!

I have one of these. Here is my post from the Kaiju Battle thread.

It's Kaiju Gyo, from the 1972 horror comic of the same name. Kazuo Umezu was the artist, and this is based on his drawings. This figure is made in China, but is seriously huge and super detailed. Very weird. Art Storm (a division of Fewture) was the company that produced it, along with a bunch of other huge, strange figures, some from the Ultraman manga from the 60s. Baltan, Dada, etc.

It's clear vinyl with... so many sprays both inside and out. I really like it.

Thank you very much for the help Mr. Krotpong!

EDIT: After doing some research it seems that Mr. K is slightly mistaken: the author of Gyo appears to be Junji Ito, of Uzumaki fame (at least to me). Also, the inital run of Gyo in Japan appears to have been from 2001 to 2002.

I feel a little silly as I have read most of Ito's translated manga, and know of this one... but hadn't read it yet.

Now I'm absolutely going to put this on my wish list!

Wait... I'm an idiot, both authors have stories titled Gyo, meaning "fish", nevermind my drivel.
