Sad to see it go. A pretty successful little Canadian story. Ten years strong on the interwebs is pretty abnormal these days, but especially so for a file sharing site. I am sure any slack felt in the greater torrent sharing world will be quickly picked up by another site, but still sorry to see the enterprise end. Not that I would ever condone such a thing.

isoHunt shut down, Canadian torrent firm fined $110M US

;____;

This place was my jam back in the day when I was too broke to be able to buy anything.

Demonoid was my go-to site. I was pretty crushed when their servers were shut down :evil: .

At least tpb has somehow managed to stay alive despite all the parties that try an sink 'em.
The day they die will be a crippling setback in the torrenting world...

my source right now is http://eztv.it/ for TV shows

I really like how they put the most popular shows by date at the main page

So the UK authorities have just shut down access to all the usual suspects. Does anyone in the UK have any recommendations of half decent alternatives? . . . hypothetically!

Demonoid is actually back up & running but I can't see it recapturing its glory days. Kickass seems to be picking up the slack but its just not the global community Demonoid once was. Oh well, time 4 popcorn... =P

^^
Yessir you're right, but it's a relative ghost town now. Damn shame... the EDM selection on there was the best around back in its heyday.

It seems many of the new uploads only have 1 person seeding and the old torrents (from before the shutdown) don't even have that going for them.
Hopefully more people will (re)join-upload-seed, but I can't shake the feeling that shutdown and subsequent time offline was a death blow for the site.

Isohunt is still going . . . they just moved it to:

http://isohunt.to/

For an alternative try:

torrentz.eu

Use a proxy server page to get around the block.
