Hiya peeps, me again. I bought this a while ago and was wondering exactly what Castle the painting on this figure represents. I thought it was 'Himeji Castle' but I'm not sure . . . . I'm curious to find out. i've looked online and cant be sure, i think the artist might have been a bit 'loose' with their interpretation. Does anyone recognise it? ![]() Japanese Figure by The Moog Image Dump, on Flickr ![]() Japanese Figure by The Moog Image Dump, on Flickr ![]() Japanese Figure by The Moog Image Dump, on Flickr |

Himeji is a good guess, as it is one of the largest and most well known of the surviving castles, but I would guess it is more just a random interpretation/depiction of them, as opposed to being any one specific castle. It doesn't quite fit the exact structure of Himeji, and even looks a bit like Nagoya too, and the 'mountaintop' if it is Himeji, is certainly exaggerated. Could be a souvenir figure that was sold outside Himeji in the many tourist stalls. |
