HA!

Fuckin' cool... and a bit of a mindblow for me, as I clearly remember having these toys when I was very young, but never made the visual connection when I got into D&D and began poring over the Monster Manuals, scant years later...

That is some crazy info. I remember having a small army of these figures.

That is really neat! I still have a handful of those and had no idea about the history at all.

Thanks for sharing, gonna see what I have tonight.

FANTASTIC share, Mitch! Especially relevant for me, this particular week, as I've been spending much of my free time in Harmontown:

I collect these too.

Unfortunately...
The owner of this Chinasaurs group threw an online "hissy fit" and banned me because I wouldn't sell one off my figs to him after a bunch of offers because according to him he was "The biggest collector ever" like he deserved anything he asked for because of it.
He simply couldn't accept a "No".
Lame.

Oh man, extra lame. Seems no matter where you go on the interwebs, the trolls and weirdos are sure to be residing as well.

Anyhow, I have always loved these cheap monster toys of all sorts, but I had no clue about the DnD connection either, though I don't recollect ever seeing the art before. Weird I have not heard about it from any other toy sources too. Thanks for sharing the article!

Yeah, I saw that, I was part of that conversation at one point. This is the same guy who has shots of the pregnant/pierced/tattooed girls posing with his toys?

yeah funny thing was after that....
I went to Long Beach to this antique mall to see if a box full was still in the back of this case i remembered.

It was still there and I made out like a bandit for cheap.

Haha! One for the good guys.

Intriguing story, I remember seeing these weird little toys when they came out. I'm gonna be on the lookout for them.

They actually get listed on eBay as "Chinasaur" from time to time.

Wow, freaking flashbacks for me. Thanks for posting this!

I recall trying to bend the bird guys head to try to get it to look forward.
I didn't see how he could fly looking off in the distance like that!
