Yes, I know! Jim Woodring is an American artist, BUT, here is a short animation produced by Japanese animators

It's from a DVD called Visions of Frank that was published... 10 years ago?

It's pretty amazing - I recommend it if you can find it a decent price.

I actually interpreted at Tower Records in Tokyo when he and Dame Darcy were promoting some releases. Good times.

Thank you for the info Oli! Will have to find that DVD. Biff, you can be my neighbor anytime :) <--then I can have a peek at your toys!

P.S. I did actually have Frank, Pushpaw, and Pupshaw at one time, and all of those little newts (both releases)... oh well...

That DVD looks good. Thanks for reminding me about Frank, i missed 'Congress of the Animals' and 'Fran' so i will have to grab those.
'Weathercraft' was really good . . . Woodring never seems to lose any of his weird charm!

Amazing Joe! But then, you have such a marvelous collection of cuteness! :P
Perhaps one day, they'll find a way back home to me :P Thanks for sharing that! :D Oh, and I still think I have the books. Jim's drawings are hypnotically mesmerizing--what goes on in that brain of his?

P.S. Now if anyone wants to foster the P&P's and/OR a Taxali Monkey to me!!!

P.P.S. Joe, if you pick up The Congress of Animals or any books, you can get them directly from Jim himself, and you can even ask him to sign your copies!

^^ oh, cool. i did that a while ago with some of the harder to get 'Finder' books by Carla Speed McNeil . . .
it was great to get them at retail and signed (with an added art-card) without being ripped-off.

Notice that the mouths are different from the real version - see Moog's photo!

I bought this DVD about 10 years ago when I was working in a comic book store! Thanks for reminding me about it.. I now know what I'll be watching after work today. Easy to get lost on the shelves, very thin packaging

Can you please tell me how many episodes are on the DVD? :P
Oli and Glenn, you are both very lucky to have bought the DVD back then, it's horribly expensive now!

I picked up my copy in 2005 from the man himself. There are 9 animations (intro by JW + 8 'guests').

Still have a small stash of JW stuff:

Thank you Biff! You are one lucky guy! :P Ok, maybe I will splurge for one!
Oh, and I still have the 3 Dorbels, those I couldn't part with (the Hong Kong Sienna version is my fav! :P ). You have a very nice collection there!

It took a while! I finally re-adopted the set :P . It doesn't appear to be as pristine as the ones I gave away, but I am happy. They are going to board a plane from the UK--I wonder if they belonged to an SB'r?
