Post subject:  Email Account Hack: Advice Wanted!

So I posted this earlier but then took it down, because I thought i had found my answers but I thought I should repost to see what you guys think.

A wave of emails were sent out this morning from my account, I could actually see them in my sent folder.
I believe it was from opening a bogus job recruiter email. If you any of you guys see a weird email from me, please delete it.
I'm sorry about that... anyways, as far as I can see there was only one wave of emails sent so far and none of my account info was changed. I managed to change my password and did so for all my other accounts on the net.

Is there a possibility that my iphone could have malware on it..? I've read no..
I've scanned my macbook and it seems to be fine.
Should I just keep an eye on the activity of all my accounts and the affected email account?

Any advice from computer savvy brainers would be much appreciated..

thanks
-B

Seems like you have all the basics down.

The most important thing(which you already did)is to make sure you do is not only change that password and the security questions but do the same for your other e-mail address as well. Lots of people link one to the other as backup and once one is cracked some savy peoples can crack into another one. It's not uncommon to see someone get their hotmail hacked then their gmail then there yahoo all in a row. So changing all your passwords and security questions is a smart move.

Run scans of course on whatever stuff you use. The free trend mirco housecall is usually great in addition to whatever you run normally.

It's actually really good that it was just a basic - make your e-mail send out spam - type of thing because that almost always means it was a random e-mail you opened that caused it rather then someone actually trying to mess with you and screw up your life. This stuff happens all the time and most people freak out when it does but 9 times out of 10 it's all solved easily and unlikely to happen to the same person twice since their guard will be up after the fact.
