Caught Samhain in DC last night for Halloween. It was epic business. I loved it.

My wife is the super samhain danzig era misfits nerd, but I do appreciate good music and she has gotten me into alot of bands I wasnt into before. (ringworm, samhain, helmet, X, Rollins era Black flag, and a few others that escape me atm)

I am not a fan of the no-pic LAW at his events. Its lame imo.

I mean, wtf, we're all getting OLDER. see,.. its part of this thing called AGING. The November Coming Fire backdrop with lighting making it pop, was raw and i wanted a fucking pic of it. The Samhain bass drum has a sweet cover on it too.

The last 3 songs, Eerie Von and the drummer switched instruments. That was neat.

Goatwhore played before them and a band called Midnight before them. I liked Midnight better, Goatwhore while good, felt like i was watching an ep of Metalocalypse.

Was there too. The photo thing is always annoying when I attempt to sneak one in It always looks like crap. Great Samhain set. London May and Steve sing do split duties on drums. I could do without Lamb of God singer, but was barely noticeable at this show.

Oh, man, I really regret not making arrangements to be at this thing. I'm in Baltimore, too, so it definitely would have been do-able. Stupid! Any awesome T-shirts for sale or anything?

No pics? and people actually listen?

does the PR release shots in high res after a while? that would make total sense and save everyone the pain of a sea of screens blocking the view.

I mean, I love seeing a show through the filter of a good and bright display no more than a few inches in size, so this forcing everyone to use their eyes and enjoy the show sounds like some new-age stuff to me. [sarcasm/]

Im just really intrigued how it is that such an iconic personality gets to have people follow the no-photo rule and fans do get to enjoy a show without distractions.

So Eerie did play with them? Glenn didn't want him there for the 1st Samhain reunion.

I saw them in NYC on Saturday. People were taking pics, despite it saying not to on the doors and tickets. Mid set, Danzig singled some kid out and had him kicked out. I later said something along the lines of It's ok to take pictures, but I don't want anyone making a bootleg of this performance and selling it at a flea market. I assume that Danzig has never heard of Youtube, and this no video policy was made in the 80's and never updated. Either way, it wa s acool show, but a lot of technical difficulties. Whoever was doing sound there should have been fired.

I like to snap one or 2 pic at an event, but most people take it to the extreme. So it's annoying to be watching a band and have people in front of you take pix the whole fkn time.
So I am not that annoyed with the no pic policy at all.

Anyway...
Saw samhain in Chicago, was a great show they played Initium in its entIrety, I have seen each reunion tour of zig over the last 3 or 4 years, never disappoints.

Wow what was it like seeing Glenn on guitar? I've only seen footage of that from the live Samhain DVD.

He was playing it in DC, but he'd like strike the chords one time here or there during Archangel.

Nothing earth-shattering,

He complains about having to play it each time too. Classic Danzig.
Archangel is one of my favorite songs so he can can complain all he wants.

He did look like he was having fun with it. If he wasnt, he's a damn great actor.

I've been watching alot of youtube videos, live shit and interviews with Glenn and its funny how badass he really thinks he is. I love his music but the older i get the more laughable he is. Your fat and balding now. Deal with it.
I've met him on 3 occasions and he's been a rock star douche 2 out of the 3 times.
