We will again be doing a charity Gara-coloring contest this time out.
All entry fees will go to Safe Passage Northampton:

... and the names of three contestants will be chosen at random on opening night to win some cool Gara-prizes!

The new coloring contest image was created by an artist you may have heard of... one Jeffrey Lamm...

Maybe, John... striving to finish my one big toy piece for the show, as well as other prep... so much to do! I need to check with Jim... he has a screenprinter in Northampton he digs, and had suggested more shirts a while back. I will keep you posted!

Man, I feel very remiss that I have not been hyping the show more :oops: ... I have been spending literally every hard-to-come-by spare minute I have prepping my piece (an extremely complex giant M1-Go Gary custom). Let me add here that one winner (to be chosen at random at month's end) will receive a cool clutch of Gara-stuff... including a fully-built-up 10" Billiken Garamon!

Also, I have been getting some teaser shots of the work coming to Northampton for this show... :shock: 8) :shock: 8) :shock:

(Though I'm dying to see what this pic was... please fix, when ya can!)

Rei came up to Northampton from VA for the show and got a taste of some truly brutal NE cold (to give you an idea of just how things have been here... last night the windchill was -45). It was a GREAT opening, a terrific number of people moved through the gallery, and the vibe was very relaxed and fun. It was a pleasure meeting Rei and one of the other artists, Cherry Au, who came over from Boston. The show looks fantastic on FOE's walls- a stellar assortment of work in great, diverse, complementary styles, and I couldn't be happier with it. I also couldn't be more thankful to Jim and Nicole for their support and work on another great show and another great weekend in their fine town.

Pics to come soon- as soon as we got back home, my wife had to dive into her studies, so I've been on non-stop kid duty... Jim will be taking pics of everything in the show soon, and I will share those here, along with some other preview shots I rec'd in the show run-up (I'm sorry, sb- did not mean to neglect you on those :( ... shit just got REAL crazy here at home during the run-up), and some opening night shots!

ALSO! the coloring contest will run through the month that the show is up, so there's still a chance to support Safe Passage and to win some cool Garamon goods! More to come on that soooon!

Sounds like the show was a blast. Really looking forward to seeing pics when you're able to post some, Mike.

Thought the temp (with windchill) of -12 last night was bad down here... but -45??? YIKES!!! :shock:
