Since there seems to be a slew of extreme music fans on these boards, I was curious... If you could choose a ten band roster of non-corporate extreme metal / music artists, what would that concert look like? |

Glenn, that's a pretty solid list. Though I'd only want The Chariot's first album and no Horse the Band. I've been lucky enough to see that list several times over each band. Just going with metal(though none I'd at all consider extreme), I'd have to say: Himsa Death Prayer For Cleansing As Hope Dies Darkthrone 7Angels7Plagues Eighteen Visions(1999 - 2000 era) Mayhem(Dead era) Sepultura(pre Roots era) Slayer(still haven't seen 'em) Hard list to make, really. |

Gimme Remembering Never and Embrace Today, and we'll be speakin' a little more my language! I only ever got to see Embrace Today once. Embrace the End is such a tight band live. Tempest Tried and Tortured is the jam. |

Can't really get into black metal, it's too chaotic for me. I need more melody and rhythm. |

Extreme... not sure, but a nice mix of hardcore punk and metal for me would be: Defeater Refused Earth Crisis Dillinger Escape Plan American Nightmare sick of it all snapcase onekingdown (blood lust revenge) Bane Between the buried and me (Headliner) I like this topic! Let's see more! |

Adam, in diggin' that list. Defeater will be in Arizona pretty soon, so I'm lookin' forward to that. Converge is my probably my second favorite band, so that was nice to see. As was Neurosis. If I went more with a hardcore vibe, I'd have to say: Undertow Judge A Chorus of Disapproval Force of Change One King Down American Nightmare AFI(Shut Your Mouth era) xCLEARx Indecision Killing the Dream/Love is Red(tie) Honorable mention: The Hope Conspiracy, Seven Generations, Embrace Today, Disembodied, Martyr AD. Too many to list!!! |

xSuicide Squadx wrote: AFI(Shut Your Mouth era) So funny! I thought of this right after I posted my list. Shut your mouth was such a great album. One of my favorite shows ever was Good Riddance, SOIA, AFI (right after that album came out), Walls of Jericho, By the grace of God, and Ensign. It was around 97 or somewhere around then. It was a ridiculous show! Good taste in Hardcore Robert! Last show I went to was at a small club in my neighborhood that closed recently. It was BANE with Defeater, Terror and a couple openers I don't remember. I miss going to shows... feel too old to go now and my only other friend that I ever went to shows with moved away... I have no friends! LOL! |

Thanks, Adam! You've got quite the taste in the 'core, as well. Don't even worry about your age or rollin' solo to shows, dude! I'm only 29, but I know dudes well into their mid 40's that never miss one. As for no friends, I went to shows for two years by myself before I ever even spoke to anyone. Ha ha. It's still fun and you still get to rage. Might even make some new acquaintances! |

Kid Dynamite and Daughters are two amazing choices. If you're going hardcore - ish, though, I think you gotta have Glassjaw in there, too. Also nice to see a couple Leviathan picks in here, as well. |

Carnifex's "Die Without Hope" is pretty good deathcore. That being said: Meshuggah Gojira Death Dimmu Borgir Suffocation Immolation |
