Thought some of you may find this interesting, this gentleman bought some old 1960's MARX "thunderbolt" horse molds, and poured some in never before used colors. Pretty cool. I had Marx Johnny West toys as a kid in the 70's...there's a whole market for reproduction and custom pieces. Not what my wallet needs! http://stevostoys.com/HorseOdyssey2.htm |

I imagine it would have been "Styrene injection" rather than pouring. Had the Geronimo figure as a kid. Great toys. If I remember correctly Daniel Boone is the rarest of those Marx type figs. |

Thanks for posting, that was interesting. I've seen old Combex molds up on the bay occasionally. They always go for quite a lot. The last one was for this Jayne Mansfield hot water bottle from the 50's. Apparently a whole bunch of molds went up before i started collecting Combex and they went for a lot. No idea who's buying them . . . . seems a bit specialised if you dont intend on using them. Maybe some people collect molds of toys, rather than the toys themselves . . . . or maybe they have all the toys so they've started on the molds! ![]() |
