FUUUUUUUUCK.

http://consequenceofsound.net/2015/12/r-i-p-lemmy-kilmister-motorhead-frontman-dead-at-70/

Part of my mind is thinking "Lemmy died? There's a shock." the other side is thinking "Lemmy didn't die. He's never going to die."

"...You know I'm born to lose and gambling's for fools
But that's the way I like it, baby
I don't wanna live for ever..."

My 30th birthday found me at Jumbo's Clown Room playing pinball with Mr. Kilmister, who whooped me. In my defense, I was pretty intoxicated. Oh, I don't mean that as an excuse of why I was beat at pinball. It was an excuse for why I was at Jumbo's Clown Room

It was a bit surreal and completely unplanned. One of my fondest birthday memories. RIP Sir

Crazy story John, but also the perfect one for Lemmy. A great memory. Sad to hear this news too this morning. If anyone has not checked it out yet, I highly recommend the recent Lemmy doc.

RIP to a legend.

"I had a good run, fuck it."
RIP you crazy speed-freak.

For me, so many memories include Motorhead and Hawkwind. Being a Heavy Metal fan from quite an early age, Lemmy was eternal. Always quotable. Never boring. Pulling funny faces in Kerrang! photo-shoots and generally being an ambassodor for Rock.

I remember very clearly buying 'Overkill' on lime-green vinyl. It is such a great album, but the amazing cover art and semi-transparent, glowingly bright, green vinyl made it extra special. I played the damn thing 'till i wore it out . . . I saw Motorhead live at a small 'secret' gig in Bristol way-back and i will never forget how it took many days for my hearing to return.

The moment Lemmy chastised pretty-much the whole Castle Donington Festival crowd because someone threw a firework. Around 90,000 metal freaks embarrassed and truly sorry because one idiot amongst them has really, really pissed Lemmy off . . . I could ramble-on forever. I'm glad he got to be a living part of his own documentary. I'm glad he got to finish his final tour. I'm glad Marc Maron interviewed him for WTF recently.

He's irreplaceable but he left behind so many good memories and so much killer music!
Metal forever, baby. RIP.

Not to mention one of the few bands to unite punks and metal heads... Not an easy thing to do in the 70's

Don't these come in threes? It's not too late.

1) Scott Weiland
2) Lemmy
3) ?

Any Sam Gopal fans?

I like their "Season of the Witch" cover better than the original.

Lemmy was in that band and was quite proactive in getting all the tracks
remastered.. its a real treat if you never heard anything pre Hawkwind

This always reminds me of 60's Euro Horror films:
