A sad day for fans of Alan Rickman. He died today, aged 69.
So long Hans Gruber. RIP.

That's shame. He was great. His voice was unique too.

This week sucks. :(

It certainly was.

My other favourite role of his, in Dogma (as Metatron).

So bummed and saddened.

A great actor and human.

Wanted to post in the Bowie thread but I still can't believe it.

^^ Lemmy died only four days after his 70th birthday . . . nearly 3 in a row. Almost the new '27 Club'.

Let's not forget Filthy Phil Taylor (61), also of Motorhead who died earlier last year, Natalie Cole (65), Otis Clay (73). Not to mention a slew of artists like Chris Burden, Fuchs, and E. Kelley. Been a bad year for "celebrity" deaths.

Another sad loss. A great actor gone far too soon. He made so many random roles into memorable - unforgettable - ones. His portrayal in the cheesefest that was Robin Hood made that movie.

FU cancer. Fuck. You.

^ Rickman is the only thing I remember about Robin Hood, ha!

I didn't encounter the man's work until '91, having managed to skip out out the Die Hard phenomenon, but that first taste made me a fan for life: anyone here seen Closet Land? Such a disquieting and peculiar film. No sense in spoiling it here, just plug it in to your retrospectives this weekend.

And Blow-Fly.

I'll admit some mixed emotions about the corporeal departure of Frey, having wished all manner of ills upon the Eagles over the years, but I suppose sympathies for those that loved him win out here. Can't say I feel too guilty about that old Elvis Hitler tune running through my head when I heard the news, though.

Bummed about Blowfly; what an interesting and genuinely hilarious guy he was.

S'funny, I was just talking about Angus Scrimm a few days before he passed. The pending re-Phantasming of the world will seem that much more hollow without him around.

Okay, back to bed.

Not sympathizing with Frey or the Eagles in the slightest. It's my understanding that every member of that band are complete pricks and none of them even get along with one another. They go through the motions just to make a buck... Whatever

Just seems to be a really, really bad time to be a pop star

Time to quickly cryogenically freeze every celebrity we know and love before they die, in hopes of having them live forever someday...

Seems like a veritable zoo has been sadly shuffling off this mortal coil lately with the departures of an Eagle, Grizzly, and Blowfly. Lest we not forget the Wizard, an Ace, Natalie Cole, and The Thin White Duke too.

Do yourself a favor and watch Bowie's ten-minute long "Blackstar" video. It's like a creepy mini-movie.
