I'm thinking about getting a tattoo on the inside on my lip. Does anyone here have one or know someone that does? Does it hurt? How does it heal and etc. |

doesnt hurt. should only take a few seconds. some heal ok. most heal like crap. keep it simple and short. |

Fuck, even tho u say it doesn't, it sounds painful - especially the "heals like crap" bit. Its making me re-consider my scrotal tattoo..... |

Its making me re-consider my scrotal tattoo..... by 'healing like crap' i meant that the ink doesn't always stay in too well. it pretty much heals up instantly. you want a painful tattoo, then i suggest tattooing the inside of your wrists. i wanted to cry when i got mine done. |

As soon as MySpace came on the scene I started looking for people I used to know. I came across a girl I went to high school with and found several pictures of her numerous tattoos, including one that read "COCKSUCKER" on the inside of her lower lip. As someone with no tattoos I had to wonder how much more that hurt than one on the outside of your body. I wondered if she was having regrets by the time the second "C" was being inked. Perhaps she was kicking herself for not choosing a shorter word. Furthermore, was it true? I ran into her a few months later but never had the guts to ask her about any of it. |

it goes pretty quick so whatever pain is involved is shortlived |

well thats good the pain doesnt last that long as long as you keep it short. i like the instantly healing part but not the holding of the ink. i want some really funny for mine. I'm thinking "Food" |

Holy Shit! I have both of the insides of my wrists inked and when they were done I was sad that I couldn't do them again, I thought they felt awesome. My most uncomfortable ink was the crux of my elbow, right over the veins, and inner tricep/armpit sucks. I don't have either of the following, but my friends that do said they could do without getting their sternums and/or around their nipples tatted again and the top of the foot that my buddy has done was fun to watch. |

like most things in life, it depends on who you ask. No existing MB tattoo studio accepted the offer from the producers of the show, so they created Miami Ink to compete with Inked. My money is on South Beach Tattoo Company, Federico Ferroni, in particular. |

I was trying to explain the thin line between the pleasure and pain of tattoo'ing. I find it really therapeutic. Can't wait to get more done. |

In my experience it's all down to timing. For the first 10 minutes or so anywhere stings like a I FART A LOT, then the endorphins kick in and it's kinda cool . . . after 3 hours or so they must run out cos then it starts to get painful again. Inner elbow crux wasn't too bad, outer elbow joint kinda vibrated right off the bones (not great) inner tricep kinda stung (like being twanged with an elastic band) and although my chestwork ends about an inch from my sternum that had me sweatin' bullets Backpiece booked to start mid December kind curious how that's gonna hurt . . . I anticipate spine, collarbones and around the sides not being 'fun' |

both guys that got their sternums done were on the unhealthy side of skinny. Literally never worked out either of them ever, one of them 6'2'' and 129lbs. They were both on the verge of passing out at times, blanching and shit! Funny to watch. I do truly hate when the machine makes your bones vibrate, I remember wanting to rub my fingers ever second I had part of my elbow done. Maybe b/c I'm ticklish my elbow and armpit killed me, getting tickled with a needle, even giving blood, I get nauseous at the elbow, I dunno. this is all tangential to the post that started the thread, and to address that, get a tattoo anywhere you won't regret it is my motto, I just sit on my ideas for like a year at a time though, becuase I find it filters out the passing ideas. |

My guy wouldn't tattoo on the inside of the mouth and would only do hands, neck or face of someone already tatooed and fully aware of what they're getting into. |

Inside of your lip is supposed to be relatively painless..I have the back of me arm from my wrist to almsot my elbow inked and it wasnt that bad for me..My friend has the underside of his arm and armpits tatooed w/tribal and he practically sleeved and he claims the absolutel worst was under the back of his arms..Extremely intense is how he put it-Good luck man!!! |

I have to say, I don't quite get tattooing the inside of your lip. Does that make me unhip? or does using the word 'unhip' make me unhip? |
