Post subject:  why are Apple so sh*t these days!

so Apple released a firmware fix for the macbookPro yesterday, but neglected to test it....so me and 100's of other mac nerds installed it only to find that it has killed our puters, cant do a thing with them, soke to tech support for an hour who denied there were any problems with it even though there are hundreds of posts on their own official message boards.
I remember when Apple were great....

the firmware update should not put any of your data on your HD at risk. I know currently you can't get to it but it should be there... can you start from a install disk?

its not the computers, its the software. they jumped the gun on releasing the new processor it is a fucking nightmare.

I actually had some dudes from adobe ( they are near my studio and I have contacts)
using my shit problems to try and fix the CS2 pathfinder crash bug.

Mac or PC??? hmmmm, locomoco can chime in, but I think there is some new fangled Mac that allows you to run both Mac and PC OS at the same time? Sounds like Voodoo witchcraft to me...

the dual mac pro is fucking AWESOME once you get it running correctly, and next year they should release 'real' software that runs properly so I recommend getting that architecture if your patient.

it IS nice to be able to run my graphics MAC programs then switch over to PC to play
online games. ( Im obsessed with Call of Duty United Offensive), but be prepared for a lot of bullshit getting it set up.

gaming on a 30" flatscreen is a pimp experience.

CS2 also has an occasional postscript bug that prints out gibberish instead of proper files.

but..they are suppossed to fix all that shit soon.

My girlfriend and I just got the intel dual Mac Pro a few months ago, and we love it! So far I haven't had any problems with cs2.

Only one thing...our 30' cinema display showed up with one stuck pixel. Can anyone here tell me the right way to go about unsticking it? It's bugs the shit out of me!

I've heard that the best way to try and remedy a stuck pixel is to sort of massage the area of the stuck pixel and hope it gets unstuck. Get some of those screen wipes, and gently rub the area in little circles.

can't you get programs that flash quickly in order to 'unstick' the pixel?

Yeah, I've tried that a few times but it didn't work. I'm afraid if I apply too much pressure I'll make it worse.
