I saw this about 12 hours ago, I have to say I enjoyed it.

I've never read any of the Fleming novels, and I dont know how accurate the movies are representing what is in the novels, but this Bond felt far more realistic than the Bonds I've seen before

Fewer gadgets, more realism and great hand to hand combat fights.

Bond girls were decent too ^_^

I hate Bond movies because they're so ridiculous and have no substance. It sounds like this one might be different though.

Yeah you may dig this one. It's quite a departure from the previous 007 style.

the books are cool, in them Bond is sort of a fuck up and an asshole, his mistakes get his ass kicked alot etc. theres like no superpowers and shit. they are really sort of gritty.

Wasn't Ian Fleming originally part of the British Secret Service and wrote the books once he retired?-I personally love all the books and movies-My father and i used to watch them all the time on Sundays..Channel 13 would play one once a week back in the 70s..

My dad and I used to watch them all the time too. Heck, we still do sometimes.

Best one is "You Only Live Twice". It was a collaboration w/ Toho studios. The best scene was all the Japanese secret service ninjas repelling down into the fake volcano!! Now, that is substance!!

I saw the midnight showing of this last night...... the chase scene at the beginning of the movie is worth the price of admission alone.

That's an extreme sport called free running or parkour depending on style vs efficiency of the run. See the movie District B13, it's full of it.

I saw Casino last night also at midnight and it might have been that we had margaritas before it, but parts made no sense. Otherwise, (and except the stupid "Whatever I am is yours scene) it was good.

Haven't seen it. Will wait for the rental as I hate theatres these days (people talking, cell phones, sticky floors, price of tickets etc). But I'm really interested to see how much of a gritty departure it is from the rest.

Kinda lame that they had to recycle the Casino Royale title and plot as they already made a movie of that book. John Gardner picked up after Ian Flemling and wrote 10 or so other titles like Goldeneye and Man from Barbarossa. They could have used one of those book plots just like they did with Goldeneye.

Also lame that they had to replace the original card game, Baccarat, with Texas hold-em (from cabletv fame).

But at least Craig isn't a blowdried Moore or Brosnan.

I think maybe they redid it because the original sucked balls..Peter Sellers..Yeah i bought that from the start.Didnt stay to the book either, not that any movie ever does totally.

just saw it and it was pretty fuckin' good (my wife even enjoyed it). straight up action film full of gritty, dirty action. no gadgets and yet still came off as a bond film. i was very skeptical of the "new bond" but i will say, he came off really well and pretty believable. i may catch flack for saying this but i would compare this bond to the most recent batman. it went for a more modern yet believable setting with characters and a plot that you can actually watch and think "shit...that stuff could really be happening". if action films are your thing...go see it...you'll dig it.

All I have to say is... Eva Green. That lady is so beautiful that it's disgusting.
