Post subject:  Usugrow tattoo..

Just got this tonight, waited months for this guy to visit the states again. I got this piece from Usugrow's website but a week after saving it I couldn't find it on the website, nor in the exhibit pics in Mutons section. The guy who did the tattoo is one of the top tattoo artists in Japan (owns a shop called Instinct). Simply amazing work, I wish I got pics of my friends piece he spent 7 hours on. For some reason when he comes here he hooks everyone up with the most rediculous deals for what will most likely be the best tattoo you ever get.

These pics dont do it justice, so hard to take a pic of my own arm, in the first pic though if you look to the left in the light you can see just how smooth, sharp and exact he was. Flawless...

Beautiful! I really want to get some Usugrow work inked on me. Good to see that it translates well as a tattoo - I was wondering, since a lot of his shading is pointalism, if it would be able to translate.
So what's the guys name that did the tattoo? And can you get pics of your friend's piece?

Yea, he owned 3 shops and they are combined into one now, which is Instinct (he also owns a clothing store but I didnt get the name). As far as I know he only comes to Chicago to my friend's friend's place when visiting here. Here is the link to a small gallery of his, thats hardly updated compared to his porfolios I saw in person, some of his stuff is just rediculous...details that most tattoo artists I have talked to say aren't possible.

Roll over each image and hold it there for a few seconds:

His name is Izu.

This is a shitty cam phone pic of it, just night and day in person obviously but you can get an idea... (not a Usugrow piece, sorry if that was misleading)

Nice! I was hoping for more Usugrow, but it's still a nice sleeve. If you ever run across more Usugrow tats please post them up!

line work, shading are all top notch. It looks like he did it with a Japanese brush.
Very beautiful ink.
