I think this is an interesting question of how collectors do their thang. I mean it in a sense of do you A-Just grab what you see and like with no regards to cash or B-Focus extremely on 1 character/line at time or any other method. I prefer 1 thing at a time, currently Crouching Hedorah from Gargamel is my obsession, but I always keep my eyes open, like Steven the bat, Balzacs Skullman (like the Unholy Xmas or Ogon) and Pete Bagge Circus Punks. But it sucks cause' if I'm going on 1 thing at a time, I have to pass a lot of good deals currently to afford it. But that's how I roll, what are your habitual ways? |

I collect around themes- right now it's mostly the Halloween and Christmas themed figures (so I guess I'm looking at a quiet 9 months). I'll also pick up things if they have a particular design element that appeals to me- e.g., the EXOHEAD Skull Rex set, because I was a huge dinosaur nut as a kid. On the other hand, I won't buy stuff simply because it fits into my collection theme- I have to like it too. I dunno, it's complicated, and I have an eclectic collection. |

For me its what catches my eye. I have yet to get a Grus, but I know I need some of them asn well as those oddball Sinbad toys. The shape and the colors play a big role. For a long time I wouldn't even buy an kaiju toy unless I saw it in a film. In TX I really don't have much of an option, I order from S7 about twice a year, hit the SDCC and other then that, I hit EBAY. I stave off the temptation to put down 200 every week for toys like I used to by painting kaiju garage kits. I really seem to enjoy that aspect and then find myself in mad pursuit of the toys.
