Mr. Obama and his family actually came into the restaurant I was eating at this past Saturday. Despite being "slight" in physical stature, he has a strong presence when entering a room. He is smart, well spoken, and seems honestly committed to fixing things that aren't working...things our current president obviously lacks. |

our current president lacks everything, so that's not so hard to do... |

He appears to 'talk the talk' . . . question is would he 'walk the walk' . . . there is another analogy not lost in there somewhere! Speaking as a man who's country is governed by a cowboys biatch! |

I would definitely be open to voting for Obama for President. I like what I've read about him so far, and I'd like to hear more about the ideas he has for the country. However, there are several things about him that will make him undesirable to other people in the voting base: - He is of mixed race. - His last name is "Obama" (sounds like Osama). - His middle name is Hussein. - He's a smoker. (Try and remember the last time you saw a politician do that.) I know it's 2007, and these things shouldn't matter to people. Obviously they don't matter to the people who posted positively in this thread, but they will matter to many people who aren't as open-minded. The Democrats need to choose wisely this time around. |

He's black, like in a Tiger Woods sort of way. I'll cast my vote for him just because I don't think he's been around long enough to be OWNED by any single corporation or interest like the last 3 presidents were!! |

Not owned? I lived in IL all my life, trust me if the polotician is from IL they're corrupt somehow, he's just better at hiding it. He won't be president, the Democrats will be president. That's how it works. Bush isn't president, the Republiucans are, and in my book they're the same they just tell different lies. |

yeah, you're kidding yourself if you think there's a candidate that isn't in someones back pocket. Take Obama for example, he's basically owned by Nike and Buick |

Obama will not run. I have some insider information that his wife will not let him to run out of fear of being assassinated. You heard it from me first. |

Wow, it's so refreshing to hear someone speak in sentences of more than 5 words! It's nice to hear more talking than pausing! But I will say, it's probably not the best idea to pronounce extraordinary as "extra-ordinary" - it's a little too high-falutin' for the voting base. I was just talking about Obama with the wife a few days back - wondering about the possibility of having a black president in the near future. I'd really like to think that we're at a point where it can happen... Also led to a discussion about which is more likely to happen first - a non-white president or a female president? |

Roger wrote: Hillary Clinton. Yeah, that was the discussion - Obama or Clinton. We both agreed that Obama would happen before Clinton. However, I think it would be interesting if Obama ran with Clinton as VP! It'd probably be a bad move, but it has the outside chance of getting the black vote and the female vote - result: landslide! Too bad so many women hate Hillary... |

all I can say is this is the first politician that I have ever listen to seriously. When I hear him talk I hear honesty. I am actually gonna register to vote on this one. I think if he builds up the support with the common man and get a bunch of people the register than it could work. I do think that he has a big chance of being killed before the election. So many haters of this kind of talk in the US. |
