Any other fans out there? They drive my kids nuts, lol! Just as well, who knows what watching Dr. Caligari or The Golem at a young age would do to you? Anyway I'm watching disc 2 of Fritz Lang's Die Nibelungen this weekend. The first half was awesome. The whole thing is like 5 hours long. |

I really like Faust, there's some great imagery in that one, Caligari is rad to, I love all the sets and everything, the weird painted shadows. |

I have only really seen Nosferatu (which I love) and Vampyr. Also Metropolis (Also love that). I will look out for the ones you guys have mentioned above though as I would like to see some more of this stuff. |

all german expressionist movies are scarier than anything else ever made. Completely psychotic, and the directors made them for like nothing. |

The "Golem" is truly amazing. I remember reading an odd story about how the film was saved from being lost forever. Supposedly it was lost, but someone in Germany found a small length of film of "Der Golem" that was sold with a film projector as a sample. So they had to go to many, many, camera stores and buy all the projectors to recover all the film and put it back together. Don't know if it's true though ![]() |
