yup. hate it 
I really try to nail down what is is about western toys that killz me. is it the long bubble-type lines that make up most scupts? lack of sculpt detail? or the fact most artists are made to rely on paint apps to tell the story. frank, come to the darkside.. %100 kaiju. It took me 3 times to get that right? |

"What the hell is smorkin'?" overheard shopping at Newbury Comics the other day by some slore in ugg boots as she picked up some of Franks vinyl an looked at it puzzled... "What the hell is smorkin'?" is now the name of my girlfriends wireless network now as a result... |

I reckon these are sweet, i'm like all skullbrainers in that i prefer kaiju overall but i reckon the western toy bashing goes a bit far. Its like people who only listen to one type of music, you're throwing yourslef into a basket where you'll probably end up missing out on a bunch of stuff you'd actually enjoy. I love kaiju beacause they often carry a sense of history and nationality with them but primarily I like toys because they are aesthetically pleasing... and many western toys are too. Frank does a buch of fucking choice stuff from both sides of the pond. Rant over

Perfect Gilly. That's what I think. We all have what we love best but why limit ourselves as well as others by declaring what we dont like as bad. Punk is my roots but that ment Devo to the Stranglers to Black Flag. At the same time though I'd spend the day listening to Blue Oyster Cult or Benny Goodman. Life , at its best, is about variety and abundance. So now in my new addiction I have toys from French, Japanese, American, Mexican, Chinese, British, and Argentininian designers. Missy's recent garage sale pick up also showed the greatness of variety. Life is to fun to be limited and stagnent, But, on the other hand, these sharkeez(?) aint for me. Thats a good thing. I've already spent to much money this month and it's only the third day in. |
