Not american, but since they are popular in America and its not Japanese company I figured this was the place to ask...anyone seen this or have news...maybe they are gonna try blindbox Kaiju a la SB ultimate battle style. Could be interesting to say the least |

It's really upsetting to see how much the term "kaiju" has been perverted. A whole new generation now thinks of it as just another kind of cutesy "urban vinyl" bullshit. Not that I have anything against Toy2R/[expletive deleted]/etc, but I really don't see how anything good can come of this. edit: Wait - was this a joke? If so, imagine me with a big "sucker" for a head, like in the old cartoons. |

total crap, just another example of a company trying to cash in on the popularity. These should be melted down with the Mecha sad bear |

HAHA im sorry I meant to say "Not A Japanese company" ill fix that now Also Im agreeing with a lot of the points made here, yea I posted it, but im not 100% supporting it yet, I would like to see the product and how its made and what qualifies it as "Kaiju" because I agree although im new here relatively of course the term is thrown around quite a bit. It was posted over on Kid Robot (Not by me for the record) and of course now there will be a big hype around it. I started with Kaiju because I realized what I was missing in my western vinyl collection, the handpainted feeling, the colors and even the minor defects in each piece that scream NOT MADE IN HUGE CHINESE FACTORIES WITH NO CARE AT ALL. And if Toy2R is simply trying to make the "[expletive deleted]" version of Kaiju using its popular "[expletive deleted]" figure before Kid Robot could capitalize on it, then no I will not be supporting this product. I just thought I would put my 2 cents in... |

Raymond has always been quick to jump on a trend (actually he's a bit slow on this one) curious to see what they put out - but its "rubber neckin' at a traffic accident" curious. |

Toy2R has made some of my favorite toys. (the Dehara boxed sets) and did a perfect translation of our Bossy Bear book art for us, so I am very curious about this one. I've been a Sentai toy freak since the late 70s. When the toys were brought to the US under the wacky title Power Rangers, it didn't matter much to me. I still buy Sentai toys from Japan by the case despite every little kiddy at toysrus "knowing" what these things are. Aren't most Kaiju made in China and Thailand, not Japan?
I have a ton of the above guys and they all say Thailand and China. I do wonder about the choice of materials. I've been trying to emulate the plastics found in Japan for a long time, stumping the very best factories in China. I gave up. We came close with the clear plastic, but then the stuff would stink to high heaven and break down after a few weeks.
