This piece is amazing in person. How they replicated the look of wood is quite an achievement.

With Kozik gone guess there needs to be someone else to pick on.

Turning on Kozik made sense. Wasn't there an interview (on a rock poster site or something) where a comment was made that Kaiju customs were basically being done for the extra $50,000 a year they generate?

No need to treat Amanda Visell badly.

Her work is far more original and thoughtful than a lot of the dreck that gets a free pass.

mmmm....dragon

I dig Amanda Visell and her work. I wish I had picked up some of her prints early on when I had the chance.

I wouldn't feel too bad, even Mori catches shit. This board is nothing without player hate.

I'll second that. I just wish there were a way these (and the Pink Elephants) could have been made out of wood instead of vinyl, but I guess that wouldn't be economically viable. They still look remarkably good (and unique), though.
I'd love to own one of her original wood pieces, but they're more than a little out of my price range.

amanda, frank, mori or whoever, its not a personal attack (well maybe in franks case)... if its lame its lame. i call it how i see it. more of you should do the same and maybe this board could be relevant again.

you won't see me posting a plus one here, but h m s has a really good point.

you can't like everything. if different opinions were expressed I think a lot of people would be much happier with skullbrain.

I'd love to see more diversity in opinions.

I like it. I wouldn't collect it, but I wouldn't kick it off the shelf.
Almost like a touch of Edward Gorey with the kid in the dragon's stomach.

When I get banned would you or Ed be willing and able to unban me with those mod powers?

If not I need to be really careful about calling it how I see it.

Call it how you see it, but be prepared to listen to the whining that will follow. It's going to happen, you just need to argue your point or walk away.

Like I said, i'm all for good conversations on toys. i would be so excited to see a thread full of posts with well thought out remarks (whether they're garbage or not) that have a genuine discussion rather than 100 people saying "me too" or "+1". that shit has become really tired.

I'm not going to ban you btw.

For myself, I usually comment on things I like; if I started commenting on everything I didn't like I'd have hundreds of posts critiquing most of the stuff people really love around here (ie Zollmen, Le Merde, Rebel Ink ad infinitum) and get crucified for it. I get that enough in real life in regard to being critical, and I'd just as soon not carry it over to here.
If people were more accepting of different opinions, and less ready to call someone a fucking idiot because they don't like a certain toy, there might be more genuine discussions. Honestly, I wholeheartedly agree with HMS's attitude, I just don't happen to agree with him about this particular piece.

i like the print way more that the toy. same with biskup and martin etc... i enjoy their 2D work much more than their attempts at toys.
