Post subject:  Need help getting SDCC Funko figs for a Japanese friend

I have a Japanese friend who is a big Frankenberry and Count Chocula fan, and I am wondering if someone would be willing to help me get a couple figures for him. I could pay $10 extra for your trouble. I know that's not much. You'd basically be doing me a favor. Any volunteers?

Yeah, but he told me that the cereal costs a lot because you have to buy it at a speciality store. I shipped a few boxes over to him once.

I will do it if the lines are not hours long.

What do you expect, are they super limited or will it be easy to get.

Super limited to no more than 10,000 of each... :D

I really am not sure. I will ask around and get back to you. Thank you for offering to help.

no problem, sorry I am not good in lines. I am not sure I could wait more than an hour for any toy. I guess we will see in a few weeks.

Hopefully they are not super limited.

That doesn't sound good.

I sent out PMs to a couple Kidrobot members who appear to Funko Funatic Forum members as well. I'm waiting to hear back from them.

Funko may make a lot of their exclusives though, so it might be crazy at first and then die off...?

There are concept pictures here of the 4 figures being released. I believe they're about 8 inches tall and boxed, but I'm not totally sure because I don't collect Funko figures and have not seen them in person. I am waiting to hear back from my friend about whether he prefers the cars or the banks.

I wouldn't worry too much it shouldn't be too hard to score these, the production run on them will be 480 pieces each.

Thanks for the info. I saw that number on the Funko Funatic Forum in a Popeye thread, but I wasn't sure that all of the figures have the same production runs. It's good to know they're making so many of each.

Okay, I can get them what day are they going to be released?

I am going to meet people a SDCC with a big Funko bag in my hand and they are going to think I have lost my mind! I am looking forward to this now.

They will go on sale preview night and be available till sold out. They have taken some pre orders on the SDCC exclusives but that is for people buying 1 of everything and they will ship those to you the Monday following Con so you don't have to try and carry 30 items all night.480 is a large run but last year the runs were close to half that and sold out the first full day of the con.I'm sure they are hoping to have enough to last 2 Days this time.A significant portion of those will show up on eBay of course and actually they are available on Ebay now. Some people who bought preorders are flipping them as we speak. Keep in mind the price of the wobbler cars is 25.00 and the banks with sound are 30.00 at the booth and going for 2 - 3 times that on eBay.

for some reason, I'm not really into those new Count Chocula sculps. I'm not into Funko but I do like those iconic figures from my childhood. Count chocula looked different back then or was it me? In those sculps he looks more like Eddie Munster.

Funko was a little mad last year, people bought most of their stuff fast! Their work is really cool and the guys are really cool.

ah -- brooks beat me too it.

Toy Tokyo's doing a pre-order on the frankenberry for $30.

Looks like they might be doing that for many of the exclusives they're going to have at their table.
