For those of you that have not seen it, the Vader Project is coming to auction net month. Dov from DKE really did an amazing job putting this whole project together over the last few years. The book is done really well as well that cover the entire project, and is available at Super7 if you would like one. It would be worth your time to check this stuff out if you have not already. Pretty great stuff from every spectrum of the toy and art world.

I am really sad I never got a chance to see them in person.
At least my catalogue is on its way.

Oh, and I would kill for the Usugrow Vader . . . well and for a couple of others too . . . mh, it is really easy to surrender to the dark side.

I thought the helmets used to retail for like 1500 or something like that. They are supposed to exactly what was worn in the movies and they are pretty large.

I checked this out a couple of weeks ago - and its a fun exhibit - some great versions in the show - and some F'ing horrible ones.

The BxH version is super simple and perfect. Usugrows was surprisingly boring while PlasticGod's version was surprisingly awesome in person - and a must for the disco. Ron's is pretty cool, and Soto's rocks hard. Hiddy went the extra mile and re-cast his version in clear and added a glowing pink 1/1 skull head inside. eerie. Gargamels version reveals what vader really thinks about - clear mini zags of course!

I'd post the pics I took, but they look better in teh catalog and are probably all over teh web anyway.

Predicted auction prices are uniformly high. Guess we'll see if people ar willing to pay a minimum of 3k for a daubed on vader helmet. Apparently tho these reatil at $800 a pop for teh blank from Gentle Giant!

I went to the show open in LA a few weeks ago and the signing they had.

Some of these are stunning in persona, and a few are already starting to fall apart, but as a whole, they are very cool.

Just went to the Philadelphia showing. Very amazing stuff. A lot of the artists did some unexpected things. The secret base one was just ridiculous and Bwana's was definitely my favorite. My girlfriend really loved the Flynn one and wanted to take it home.
