At first I thought maybe this were existing figures that had been modified w/ a heat gun, but I see these are production pieces. I kind of like them.

best thing to come out since the sorayama.. interesting that both pieces are collaborations and both are of the companion figure.. me thinks this is quite telling :?

I have the original 4 . . . I once had the chance of the GID but foolishly passed on it. The green/red Christmas pair never appealed!

It's strange that these weren't included in the book -
I can't believe such a complicated release has not been in development for quite some time - so why not put it in?
Guess it's not an issue, since the book puts as much emphasis on tee-shirts as it does the vinyl, and is full of
omissions.

I'm guessing these look pretty impressive in person... I kind of like them.

To me (a noted KAWS apologist...I own the shitbars, Twins etc.), it looks less like Dali and more like something that got unintentionally fucked up in the dryer. It's fucked with on way too many planes for my liking.

This, for me, on the other hand, is a much better* Lazzarini sculpture. Cleaner. A single-plane skew Companion along the lines of this pistol would have been much better IMO.

*Not that I'm a real fan of his stuff upon researching it.

wonder if it's made to stand up (I hope so)... i dig it. I've seen Lazzerini in person before... so amazing and hurts your brain when you look at it.

First off, this thing looks amazing. Great new Kaws piece which hasn't been said(or shouldn't have been) in a long time.

Only thing better would be a black dissected to give it a psychedelic feel.

I think the dissection of the companion was the point of the dissected.
I think the distortion of the companion is the point of these.

Definitely going to try and pick up a set of these! Im glad they are 3 different sculpts as well and not just the colorways

I like these a lot. Especially since it wasn't one distorted sculpt in 3 colorways but instead 3 completely different sculpts. I think these will look awesome together and in conjunction with the original '99's.

Supposedly 1000 of each.
Not impossible but difficult to obtain for a reasonable price.

i didn't get a sense from the articles if these would all be released at the same time?

And hopefully the "retailers" will be left out of the loop on these.

I like them as well, but I can imagine my friends' comments on seeing them at my place: "did you leave them out in the sun?" etc. Now who'll make a bootleg clear pink KvP?

on my side, I don't get the hype on these new figures. I find them way too distorded...

out of any consideration about the shape, I would be very carefull with such figure : with all the bending/standing problems on the dissected that appeared as time passed, I can bet these figures will unfortunately have the same behaviour...

I tend to agree. These seem to be just randomly distorted - still, they look interesting but compared to the Lazzerini stuff I have seen, I do not see any concept in this at all.

they are interesting, but i don't know if i would buy them. i'd rather hunt down the 99 companion.
i would like to see them in person though, they look really trippy.

I love them. I'm gonna try to get one. Well if they aren't $1000... Much better than some of the latest stuff he's done...

Post subject:  Re: Kaws x Robert Lazzerini

I think I'd rather track down a black sorayama than chase these.
But then I have the original 99s.

Not exactly relaxing to look at, and I've done my share of psychedelics.
Liked them at first, but then the novelty wore off on later looks.

Seems like a gimmick.
