Most the fellows below were made in the 1960's by MPC as a competitor to Nutty Mads. I've heard them called "MPC Uglies", but have seen a boxed version where they are named "Daffy Daddy-Ohs". I was wondering if anyone else here collected them. The purple football player in the far back is a Nutty Mad, used for scale, and the big green Frankie is a wonderful Thriller piece. ![]() And here I have a bat for use with Madballs- does anyone know if it is licensed or not? The Madball did not come with it. Thanks! ![]() |

Never seen these before. They are interesting, but I prefer nutty mads! The green guy is nice though! Oh! And, may be this thread belonged better in the vintage forum? |

I''ve heard of the MPC Uglies, but still too busy chasing Nutty Mads and Weird-Ohs stuff to look for them. I do like the name "Daffy Daddy-Ohs" much better -- I'd never heard that before (nor heard of a boxed version -- thanks for the info). Now you've made me want to see how my Nutty Mads would look next to my Tonneran . . . |

Very cool! I've heard of the MPC stuff but all the ones I've come across are too pricey and lots of times not in top shape. I've yet to pick one up. So far it's Marx "Weird OH's", Nutty Mads and "Blame It's" for me. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Nice! I assume that Freddie Flameout is a Mexican repro? Looks great in the silver plastic. Robert DeCastro wrote: Very cool! Thanks, yup on the Mexi repro. What's really tough to find are the military ones. I think they where only sold in the UK or something. There was a German and a Japanese that looked like a caricature of Tojo. |

The Marx Toy Museum is only an hour or so away from me, and they have a version of the Nutty Generals which came boxed and painted -- includes a caricature of Castro as well, which is awesome, along with a Brit, an American, and a Soviet -- six in all. The Castro is strangling a chicken, I believe. Even unpainted and individually the generals are impossible to find, let alone the insanely rare boxed sets. I don't have any illusions of ever finding (or being able to afford) those guys. ![]() |

They look like they're having a wild party, so much dinamism in there! |

We were wondering about that chicken in Castro's hand on another thread, I didn't know it actually was a repro. Here's the link may be you'll find it relevant. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=37381 ZPlanner wrote: The Marx Toy Museum is only an hour or so away from me, and they have a version of the Nutty Generals which came boxed and painted -- includes a caricature of Castro as well, which is awesome, along with a Brit, an American, and a Soviet -- six in all. It's funny that the Castro is the only one that closely imitates one of the old figures. These guys really capture the tone and style of the originals. Must have (sometime down the road, that is . . .) |

Thriller def has added some new stuff since the last time I visited their site. I really dug their take on the old Rocko the Champ character. Fidel just totaly cracked me up! ![]() |
