I'm sure it's been talked about somewhere before but I can't find anything.

That inspired many people.
I mean the comic.

Robert Williams dude! It's the source of all the Juxt-a-tude.

I do remember telling him in the early 90's he should make toys and he scoffed at me.

Robert Williams wrote the intro to my first book, BTW.

ahh, makes more sense now, I was having a hard time interpreting the artists name on the comic. I was wondering who Ross Williams was.

It goes back further than that - actually, both of us are ripping off the old Impko devil decals from the forties-fifties.

Somewhere, I have a copy (bought at Psychedelic Solution in NYC back in the early 90's) of a Williams poster entitled "Beamin' Gleamer in "Flash In The Pan"", a typically twisted Williams id-scape rendered completely in that faux-chrome thing he does. It's stupendous.

I remember this dude Phil who was a stoner, scenester dude in the underground music circles of nyc in the late 80s. He had some original Robert Williams paintings on his wall and I think I must have stared at them for hours every time I went to his apartment. I still remember that awe like I was staring into a Picasso or something.

I think Anthony Keidis of the peppers owns a bunch as well as Long Gone John.
I saw them collected in LA at a show in the 90's called "Helter Skelter" and the whole show brought me to tears. I went back like 3 times.
Still one of the most amazing exhibits I've ever seen.

That is a great painting, the linework is so clean. I wish you still did SDCC like you used to, but I imagine all the hassle with what it's become now make it not worth the trouble.

I have an original Coop in my living room. My girlfriend's dad walked by one day, saw it and said "That drawing looks like your sister".
