I am really extremely excited for this line to come out, so I thought we might as well have a thread to keep up with the updates for any other non-vinyl action figure lovers on here. I can't even put in to words how awesome this is, but suffice it to say I have a strange feeling inside. Issuing or re-issuing a series of concept toys from such great lines is I am sure the wet dream of many a child of the 70s/80s. My mind is already going wild with the possibilities. Here are some preview shots from SDCC showing the upcoming line of previously unproduced 3 3/4" Alien action figures, based on the defunct 1979 line. Possible box art showing the four figures available ![]() Close-up of Ripley in spacesuit and Alien prototypes ![]() 'Collectible' drinking glasses ![]() ![]() I really hope that these happen. My key request would be, since these are action figures, and whether OG or modern would most likely be produced in China, I am strongly hoping for large run numbers [i.e. mass produced] and ease of availability. Limited editions/rare figures I couldn't really care any less for. I expect a huge demand for these, and ideally would like a pricepoint to what one would expect of other comparable action figures. My biggest fear would be another Shogun Stormtrooper release. ![]() |

I think this is a MUST for the line to be successful. I can't see paying a premium for a 3.75 action figure. It would be a huge waste to produce these in Japan and bump up the cost of the toy. Without knowing anything more about this line, I would bet my house on them being made in China (or at least not Japan!). |

Super(7) excited about this news. I've always dug the info I could find on those prototypes. I need more alien toys! |

This is fantastic news as well which will definitely appeal to the nostalgic 70's/80's crowd who grew up on these toys. I know patience is virtue in this hobby but the one thing that bums me out is the timeframe. It's like we get teased and then need to wait another year or two for the reality to set in. |

However, keep in mind (which I'm sure you have) that they have to work with giant corporations who need to run shit up the flag pole a hundred times before they can even entertain the idea of a collaboration or license or whatever... |

^^ I agree. I guess I'm just pointing out that last year we were teased with Gonzo's Priest, Crystal Mecha, Boba Fett Jumbo, Fossila and RV Casket cruiser. After 1 year of teases only 2 of those came out..(One of them just now.) I just sometimes wish things were closer to a reality in general before we saw a teaser shot. It'd be nice to know that these would be out in 6 months rather than 'soon' or 2013. |

I'm sure that if S7 actually HAD a bunch of Alien ReAction figures at SDCC they'd sell like hot cakes, as they'd be new and exciting. A year or two from now, that might not be the case. |

I'm so stoked for this, hopefully they do a shogun xenomorph as well. I'm really liking the direction S7 has decided to go in. Really doing these toys justice. |

As cool as it would be if Super7 showed them and they were immediately available for purchase, I personally like teasers. It's nice to have toys on the horizon to lust after. Kind of wondering about the 'designer vinyl figures' bit in the ALIEN e-mail. I'm also really interested to see what's in store for Transformers and the unveil of the Optimus Prime shogun. |

I have faith in Super7, but I'm skeptical too. With licenses like these, they've obviously got to cater to a much wider audience Starscream super shogun, please? |

Not to shit on the idea of whatever vinyl toys may eventually come, but the Alien toys produced by Marmit were absolutely perfect to me. The Alien, the humans, all perfectly transitioned from a character from an old movie to a vinyl toy that resembled a blown up 3 3/4" action figure. If what's to come is along these lines, I'm all in. If they're going to be heavily stylized, count me out. |

I am incredibly excited about these figures. I think the only thing that would make them better is if they were built with Glyos joints. |

thank you. best news ever. ![]() ..... where and when can we start a list for the next reaction toylines? sorry, don't mean to downplay what you are doing here, but, based on the quality that s7 puts forth, there are SOOOOO many lines i want to see come out that went unproduced. |
