...Hey guys, Jeremi has been making his art-toys/figures since 1996, and MAY be known to some SB'ers from his collaborations with Bob Conge AKA Plaseebo. RECENTLY he has gone from making 1-off pieces, to multi-piece-resin-runs + he has a vinyl in the works as we speak with Luke Rook... So i thought i may as well get some discussion going on Jeremi + 'Miscreation'... Pic below of some resin pieces: Pic below of a 1-off: (and disclaimer - i placed this thread here and NOT in the 'Romper Room' due to the upcoming vinyl by Jeremi/Miscreation. IF mods feel this is not the best place, please move it!) |

For me this is lapsing into the realistic horror toy category and therefore isn't of personal interest on a collecting level. In unpainted they are much closer to a toy look. Certainly good work though and I can certainly see it reaching its target audience. Still... how many hours did it take to paint the eyes? |

I don't know where they belong, but they don't feel right as something everyone should own. More like a screwed up museum piece. There was a solid blank GID version of these awhile back, really had to think about even buying it. I decided no. |

Jeremi pays serious attention to detail. Can understand they are closer to people than monsters, and this may be a turn off for some. The only turn-off for me, personally, is the price - US 300 or so for the resins. That's why i am looking damn forward to the vinyl release Jeremi + Luke have a cooking... |

It's not so much that it's humanoid, it's more the approach and aesthetic. There is a market for realistic horror toys, monstrous or humanoid but it's definitely a different breed of collectible than what I buy. Like garage model kits, I think things such as this are cool but I dare not step foot into other areas of collecting nor do they really call to me. The last thing I need is another hobby anyways. I hope his sofubi offering is slightly more JP toy like (did I really just say that?) but it's not like Luke is into conventional. Something like the NAG ball is nice because it fuses the hyper detail with something endearing like a mad ball tribute. If the sofubi is in the same vein as this, I would probably not be interested. Curious to see none the less. |

I'm stoked to see this, I've known miscreation for years. Interested to see how this all plays out, it's gonna look ridiculous none the less. |

^^^^ For those interested...Jeremi has released a photo of the wax for his upcoming sofubi... SEEMS they are really highlighting the weird aspect. Lotsa bumps, and maybe 2 heads/faces??? I think it would look great next to some Splurrt personally. |

For me, gross out stuff has to be balanced with a contrast. Typically, something like a humorous or super stylized element does the trick. Suuuuuuper realistic gross out stuff always just feels like someone trying really hard to tell me how badass they are. I can see that there's a great deal of skill involved, here, but it's not my cup of tea. |

Excited about this. Mr. Rimel does amazing work. Dark and disturbing= right up my alley. It may not be to everyones taste. But it definitely has a place here. Thanks for posting. I. for one, will be looking to score one of these vinyl pieces when they drop. |

These might be super disturbing to some...but, c'mon...they are similar toLiving Dead Dolls...Puppet Master....etc... but, these are more super detailed and the resin picks that up better than vinyl. Personally, I dig them and the best part is they are produced in the studio I work out of... http://www.truecaststudio.com https://www.facebook.com/TrueCaststudio210?ref=br_tf True Cast Studio does all the prototyping for NECA and some for Sideshow, Hallmark, Monogram, etc... Jeremi Rimel does some killer work and the resin casts are top notch done by professionals in the industry. TGB |

It really does take on a whole new dimension in marbled. Brings the toy element out really well. |

I realy like the marbling on the NYCC one but for me I think that Cadaver Twin is as far as I can go when it comes to creepiness. And I had to get the watermelon one at that to neutralize the creep factor. |
