I finally finished my first standard kaiju. I've been obsessing over the sculpt long enough. Time to call it done and send it into the internets. I think you get the association. It will be releasing under my new brand SECRETOY. See you back in 4 or 5 months with vinyl, hopefully. SECRETOY Cinema Monster by Splurrt, on Flickr SECRETOY Cinema Monster by Splurrt, on Flickr |

This is awesome joe. Love the head sculpt and the hands are really well done. Your obsessing has defintely paid off cause this is really solid work! Just wondering, whats the reason for a new company? For different style of sculpts that dont fit the splurrt aesthetic? |

This guy is awesome Joe!! Sounds like you're all done with the sculpt and ready to send him off to Japan, but I would offer one humble suggestion - I feel like if his arms were more bent at the elbows, that would give him a little bit more action in his pose. I'm imagining him with his arms raised pointing forward, and they look like they might look a little awkward in that pose. Giving him some bend to his elbows would give him a sense of movement and more playability, at least in my book. |

Yeah, I don't know if you are looking (or if it is even possibly too late already) for any feedback, but I do agree with what James has said about the arms. A bit more of a bend, if it is possible, would give him a more realistic look, not so straight-armed toy/figure looking, but it all depends on what you are going for. And again, just a small thing, but if you were making changes still, maybe slightly different grasping poses for the hands, just so it is not so symmetric - but that is just what I like personally. Amazing figure Joe, but that goes without saying. Love, love, love the homage. |

Thanks guys. I get what you're saying about the arm bend, but I think with the long arms they work best as hanging straight when the figure is displayed. I think yes, bent arms are a little easier for playing, but the time most people will handle and play with the figure is pretty minimal to the time they will be displaying it and just looking at it in this position. Maybe it's the (lack of) angles in the photo, but the right hand grasp is actually a bit different. It is in more of a grip so it can hold things. Glad you are liking him. |

Absolutely in love with this sculpt. I'm not a huge standard or large size collector however this will make it's way to my shelf for sure. Love the three eyes two nose large mouth face. It's a refreshing look and welcome to the tons of double separate head sculpts & I think that's what sets this guy apart. Along with the hoof legs this guy slays! Great work and can't wait for the new brand!! |
