I've been a fan of his creepy artwork for awhile and just heard Unbox teamed up with him to release a set of vinyl witches.

Original artwork that inspired the toys.

The first vinyl release.

Looks like the first release is a pre-order so no one misses out which is really nice. The marble looks so well blended. I think they are around 9 inches tall but I haven't heard if there is any articulation or not.

Here is a link to more of the guys art. http://johnkenn.blogspot.com/

These are great! I love the simple, elegant sculpt, maybe even more than the source material it came from (nothing against it of course, I quite enjoy his art).

I think the pre-order starts on the 7th of this month. I assume it will be on the Unbox site but that's just a guess.

It might also be on the deathwaltz records site, I think the marbled run is for them.

From Spanky Stokes blog:
"available on Friday, November 7th, 2014 — for a limited time — in the Unbox Industries online shop for $150 per set, with orders being shipped by the end of November".

^Agree with everyone. Although I don't want to own these personally, the original artwork is fantastic and the sculpts are really top notch. I would love to see more subtle marbling like this, instead of so much over-the-top, strongly contrasting marbling with bright colors (although that certainly has its place, i.e. Kumons etc.).

Unbox has got their shit togetha!

I really like these toys, the marble works great at defining them without paint. I would jump on these if it wasnt the day before Dcon. Maybe if i strike out at the lottos...

I'm on the fence with these... I don't know why. I just am. I like the art much, much better. I'm not nearly as hip as you guys to the marble. I think a black with grey or white rub would be better. They also look pretty fragile. I'd be afraid to move them and one of the hands pop off or the teeth pop out. Hell, if I move too quickly my hands and teeth pop off.

safe bet they will not be everybody's cup of tea on here..
I just have a thing for quirky hands in odd poses and wicked witches..
it just so happens that these old crows are sporting both..

I think they're amazing. They don't fall into my particular aesthetics when collecting, but I still appreciate how well they transitioned to a toy. I think the marbling is subtle yet effective.

Well said! I'm with you here. I think these would also look great with a black rub paint application. Not my taste but perfectly executed.

I am torn between going for the marble and seeing what version comes next but blank toys like this are just so nice.

The limited pre-order is up on the Unbox shop now. Looks like they ship in just 3 weeks.

I love these! I've ordered a set already. Beautiful coloring, I think.

So apparently one pre-order customer will randomly get the original hand drawn post-it art by Mortensen the witches set were based off for free with their order.

I forgot to mention last week, but I saw a set on Skinner's table at Dcon... I don't know if they were this colorway or not to be honest. I also don't know the connection with Skinner. Any dialogue?

Are they more impressive in'real life'? I like the sculpt but, like a few others, like the image of the monochrome better than the marbled. I would love to see these in GID, maybe w a little rub to show off the details.

The ones Skinner had were black just like the other two new Unbox vinyl pieces of his own creation he had on the table. The black version of these will be available at some point from what I read. I think it was just a way to show the witches off to people at D-con. I believe they have done that type of thing before where artists who work with Unbox get sent a sample of another project before an event just to have it visible.

They are more impressive in "real life" but I'm still on the fence. Again, I can't explain why. They don't hit me in the gut like a lot of people. I still like the artists illustrations best. They certainly are a better translation from pen or 2D to vinyl than a lot of figures posted here, (PM me for that list)

I ordered a set. Had to have them the minute I saw them. The Death Waltz colorway/collab ( big Death Waltz fan), first edition, and the subtle marbling all make it work for me. I know i'll never win the art, but it is a nice touch from the the artist and Unbox.
